You prbably shouldn't wash your hair every time (well, run some water through it but don't shampoo it more than three or four times a week), it dries out and you body actually produces more oil, so in the end your hair s greasier than it was before. Back when I had long hair I experimented a bit and found that my hair was greasiest when I shampooed more than once every two days or less than once every 5. I'm sure it varies person to person but in general shampooing once every 2-3 days seems best.

I haven't showered once this year.
