My dad used to ''lecture'' me at math as well, but it was less of a lecture and more of a harassment on how dumb i was.But he also had tons of personal problems(that kept growing as i grow older)and wasnt even that much of a good dad.

My mother did a way better job than my dad cause she was just a high school graduate and not that smart, but you dont really have to be fucking einstein to understand 4th year math,i think it helped because she was learning beside me on what to do rather than being like ''this is how you do it dipshit'' like my dad was.

I also had this talk with a couple of my friends who are teachers, they all told me that teaching to their own children is pointless because they take their stupidity way more personal and just keep pushing on the issue.Worst case scenario just lock him up in his room for an hour or two with his books and stuff.
