They didn't even attach the spine. I'm pretty sure during the fetal stage every individual develops a unique nervous system.
Good luck trying to pair two different nervous systems.
"Fusing the spinal cord of a person is going to be key to successfully transplanting a human head onto a donor body. The scientists claim that they have been able to do so by cleanly cutting the cord and using polyethylene glycol (PEG), which can be used to preserve cell membranes and helps the connection recover. "
If they start doing this I could kill myself and feel good about giving someone a new lease on life :D
>it was kept alive for only 20 hours after the procedure for ethical reasons
wait, does that mean i can get my head transplanted onto a chad's body?
>the year is 2020
>know Chad is an organ donor if event of his death
>kill him and make it look like suicide
>take his body
ghost in the shell will be considered kid's trash within the next year.
on topic though, I agree.
who the fuck would want your body? you probably live on diet of tendies and self hatred
desu this just seems unethical as fuck. Im not a vegan fg or anything but come on now. this is Full Metal Alchemist levels of fucked up
This. Neurons communicate by shooting jets of calcium, sodium and potassium at each other - electrically shocking them induces this behavior as well. This is called an 'Action potential,' and can induce more action potentials in a long chain. In this way, electrical stimulation can effect neurons it isn't directly connected to.
Graphene in general is highly conductive, as well as biologically compatible. It could be used to stimulate neurons. Not only that, these graphene nerves could be two-way - that is, activating more graphene nerves when stimulated by an electrical impulse from a neuron.
The other big thing is that graphene is lighter and stronger than any other available material. It also has many other features too numerous to name.
so this has been done before but with dogs but if i recall they cant have the animal survive longer then a week or so without the body turning on itself... granted we can breed people with different blood types soo this is a possibility.... but i dont see the purpose at all unless you wish to make hybrids of animal humans.
here is canavero in mgs5.
he is suing konami and kojima for using his image without permission.
