It doesn't matter what you do to your fingerprints. They'll grow back unless you physically mame yourself to the point where your fingers barely work anyway. Just wear gloves.

Also, you'll probably wind up leaving DNA at the scene of some kind so the prints won't really matter. I was celles with a guy who ditched a cigarette butt and they swabbed the DNA and popped his ass that way. Once you get convicted of a felony in any capacity, your DNA is on file for life.
