Who here /fuckbernie/? You realize this faggot wants to increase income tax rates on people who make more than 400k to 90%? Imagine you're some surgeon or CEO who worked hard as shit for your money and you made the same amount of money as an accountant? That sound fair to you? Bernie doesn't want to take people out of poverty and into the Middle Class, he wants to make poverty more comfortable and destroy people's chance at success.

Why do all white people like to pretend they're rich entrepreneurs or CEOs waiting to happen? It's like you just lick boots of rich people because you think that'll be you or you're associated with them somehow.

Same with poor white trash who vote against their own interests for Plutocratic Republicans because you'll feel like a nigger if you don't. I'm sick of poor white people sucking Limbaugh's cock. Dude is worth $350,000,000 and he's pimping you all the way to the bank by telling you who to be mad at.

None of these would've have happened if America was socialist and none of them can survive if America becomes socialist. Bernie has fooled young people into thinking that the rich are like those old 1900's industrialists with top hats, but the truth is they look like this and they're sucessful because they're innvoative and created something that everyone wanted, not because they ruined the enviorment or because they're corrupt.

See that's the attitude they want you to have. You're towing their line to your detriment and most of society. An article just came out that said 62 people own half of the worlds combined wealth. You might think $100,000 a year is a lot but if they keep consolidating everything to the top then they'll look down on you too and call for your culling. You don't think there are people with power on Earth who think make anyone with less than $1,000,000 need to go?

It is always about the money until poeple are laying in bed, dieing.

The 1900s industrialists did the same thing. Henry Ford, Rockefeller and those kinds of people made bank off a good idea and the will to make it happen. Innovation happens when you're driven to reach the next socioeconomic stage.
>>
>>25895363
Oh yeah, gaming the system to raise money via insurance and loan scams sure are innovative. I really feel blessed for what the super rich have given me.

Im half way through med school now and we are down to 35 students in my year from a number of 79 that started out in year one (some of those not with me are repeating previouse years and some have dropped out of med school altogether). Supply and demand still apply. If people with programming degrees aren't getting jobs, people will shift to different fields. Also we need to put more focus on non-university education as well, trades, blue-collar type shit, etc. College is not for everyone, even if it's free.

The top 1% of americans make more than the bottom 50%. Bernie wants a wealthy class to incentivize success, but he doesn't want an obscenely wealthy class that obstructs it. Opponenets of Bernie often display the propensity to describe the lower class as leeches who deserve to live in poverty.
Even if this was true for most people, the leeches didn't cause our economic problems in 2008. That was mostly the wealthy class on wall street taking bad risks. That's the part of the problem that Bernie wants to focus on.
Having an obscenely wealthy class is inherently dangerous. If the way to eliminate this risk is to redistribute it to the people who definitely deserve to live in poverty, then so be it.
>>
>>25895983
Right, and when you turn everyone into a skilled worker, skilled workers become the new baseline. The reason why skilled workers are paid more than unskilled workers is because there are less of them. If everyone is raised to that level, that level becomes the bottom class.
You saw a similar thing happen when women entered the workforce. It used to be you could support an entire family on a single income salary, now since the workforce doubled, lots of families need dual income sallires to survive. But of course god old berine labed the economists that warned that this might happen as "sacpegoaters" Learn what sacristy is and how it affects an economy. For fucks sake I learned this shit in highschool economics, this is basic shit.

>>
>>25894981
As I understand it Bernie is going to pay for his utopia by taxing financial transactions, which are mostly free money for rich people.

If you own a lot of capital, at a certain point your money just starts making more money automatically and you don't have to do anything but occasionally decide where it goes, or pay someone to decide for you.

America put Obama in office twice.
3rd time's the charm. No way we'd make it one term with this faggot in office.

He'd fuck the economy so bad spending all that money trying to make everyone the same.
His entire plan banks on 32 trillion dollars just falling into his lap after he fucks with the healthcare system. Like Obama didnt already try and fail.

Democrats and many Republicans are only seeking to mask the symptoms instead of actually curing the illness.

Trump is the cure. Trump will no longer continue to pay the outrageous prices that many corporations force the government to pay for basic needs. And the rest of the country will hopefully follow that example.

The thing is, once you're making over $10 million, you've pretty much "made it" and have enough business manoeuvrability. If not, you have the funds to have advisers and legislators give temporary passes for growth opportunities that work in the interests of people.

This "what made america great" aspect of capitalism is filled halfway with shit. No individual can or needs to spend that amount on anything, and businesses that ARE negatively affected/ have huge backlashes from these sorts of taxes has the means to offset them.
A millionaire isn't going to be demotivated because $20 million is taken away from their $40 million. They are still living an amazing life-
>$200k a year and you literally shouldn't have anything to complain about, unless you want to start a business.

Ideally, everyone should keep their money and not have to lose so much, but we live in a world where in the same country/ state, there are people in impossible-to-escape positions, are overworked, under-appreciated, and live miserable lives for either no reason, bad luck, or just one tiny fuck up. Yes, there are irresponsible people, but there isn't a standard we can judge everyone by. Just because shit was easy for you means absolutely fucking nothing.

Yes, it happens to be the case that some of the most productive members of society aren't the best paid.

A geneticist who may help cute cancer is fairly well compensated, but doesn't make nearly as much as financial speculators.

Defiscalizing the economy and grounding compensation in productivity is the only way to keep the superrich from owning everything at the expense of income declines for mostly everybody else.

People who defend the capitalist economic system fall into two groups.

1. The people who do well in it.

2. The people who have been brainwashed to think they will do well in it, despite doing poorly.

The first group has a logical reason to defend the system and they use their success in it - survivorship bias to argue there is something wrong if you don't succeed in it. This argument doesn't hold water.

The second group is stupid enough to think they have realistic shot at entering into the first group, they think they are exceptional in some way when in reality they are no different then their peers which are all barely making enough to live. This group is equivalent to the people who keep buying lottery tickets thinking they will eventually win - sure occasionally people do but the vast majority do not.

Protip: areas with lower rent also have less jobs and moving to them further disconnects you from the world resulting in even greater economic isolation.

There's simply not a solution within the capitalist model. It's why there is such a high percentage of people living close to poverty in the US. Those who succeed have survivorship bias which blames the victims but when a sizeable chunk of people is living in poverty their arguments hold less and less water.

It honestly doesn't even take 2 seconds to come up with a plethora of reasons why moving to a farther away/ shittier area will fuck your shit up

Fuck you most people are barely scraping by and even if they did have savings, multiple situations and prospect on life may end up fucking you over big time. Like losing your job. "No worries, I'll look for a new job and live for the next 6 months off my savings."
Before you know it, 5 months have gone by, and you haven't been able to find a job, so now you're selling things + working a "temporary job" to stretch that "last month" out to maybe another 3.
Then another 6 months pass, and you're still in that fucking "temporary job" unable to find anything else even after you broadened your fucking search criteria (applying to jobs that don't even fit the skills that you have), and being depressed/ only earning enough to get you to work, living off of noodles, while occasionally taking out loans every now and again for when your boss didn't assign you enough shifts.

But if you have 900, but the rent is 450, and you can find a place for 300 just to live "temporarily", and you don't really have a choice/ that time to test your luck at finding new opportunities, it's a forced hand

If your barely scraping by, the last thing you need is a kid you cant afford. Sure if your a dude your options are limited to condoms and not sticking your dick in things due to female privilege. But if your a female, and you have an unwanted child, you deserve that burden

Accidents fucking happen; heat of the moment or defective birth control or a plethora of other reasons

If a billionaire is paying the majority of his wealthy away but still has a lavish excess, how is that actually more just to you than somebody impoverished with virtually no mobility paying something like 10% but still not even scraping by, there's something seriously wrong with that.

There are people who personally have the money to send things into space, and there are many more people who don't even have the money to put themselves through school.

How do you people not get that these aren't decisions people get to make
They don't have options, they don't have contingencies, they can't put themselves into positions where opportunities arise/ they are less prone to disaster.

Being poor doesn't mean "lel, i bought this new iphone instead of paying rent"
It means being paralyzed, having to work more to subsidize being poor, getting bad credit, new problems being introduced, random disasters, no ways of escape

You guys are all "Man up and take action"- that's exactly what the poor are unable to do. They cannot take action, even if they are sweating blood and tears to try to get an opportunity to take action.

Rules change, paradigms shift, in a constantly devolving society certain luxuries of one time (having a home, going to college, working over the summer) are not realities in the new

Shitty decisions are made, yes

But what if suddenly it were illegal to go on 4chan, and they rounded up all the people that have used it.
"Shoulda made better life decisions. They have to deal with the consequences"

Of course, having kids or spending your budget hazardously isn't nearly as fucking random, but past mistakes shouldn't affect future decisions. I think no matter how badly you fuck up, there should be a way to get back, that doesn't involve selling a fucking kidney.

Being poor isn't punishment. It breeds more negativity, uneducated decisions, forced hands, depression, apathy. People should have the choice to get up off their ass and do something to change it- problem is, that choice simply doesn't exist for the majority of people that are poor. Or it's more logically sane to stay on welfare than get a shitty job, have less family time, and end up with LESS to spend.

If they leave the country they can't "take" jobs with them. If the need for the service is there then someone else will fill the role.
>If everyone has acess to a college degree for free, than a college degree becomes much more common, making it much less valuable.
College is already massively devalued in this day in age. You can't get a job decent that's not a trade/manual labor without a degree
>Meaning now unskilled workers are even more expensive to employ, on top of the increased taxes being payed by employers. Meaning less jobs.
Labor only makes up a portion of the cost of goods and services. Companies can marginally raise the price on goods/services to pay their employees a fair wage. Your tax dollars already go to paying welfare for these people making $7.25 an hour.

Not if they take 99% of the fucking wealth with them. Then how do you build new business if everyone is poor? Who now employs that society of poor people?
>College is already massively devalued in this day in age. You can't get a job decent that's not a trade/manual labor without a degree

>Labor only makes up a portion of the cost of goods and services. Companies can marginally raise the price on goods/services to pay their employees a fair wage. Your tax dollars already go to paying welfare for these people making $7.25 an hour.
And who do you think buys goods and services? If prices adjust to accommodate $15 an hour, then now a larger portion of you higher wage, just goes right back into the their hands to cover that wage.
>>
>>25899104
>If everyone has acess to a college degree for free, than a college degree becomes much more common, making it much less valuable.
That's a retarded argument mang. Conservatives were actually encouraging everybody to go back to school on loans because of the economic recession.

add to that that it's a specific skills training program and a higher number of skilled individuals in the country can't negatively affect the demand. They actually say right now that we have a skilled labor shortage, so what really would result from something like this is you seeing fewer third worlders immigrating to the USA for jobs.

Also that nobody really gives a shit if a more educated society makes it harder for you personally to be powerful. Your degree is already worth just about nothing without experience, so what does it matter if there are a few more people with the same skill set?

On top of that, not everybody wants to be a fucking programmer or a doctor or whatever prestigious job earns you the most cash. You can see that there's a steep divide in your thinking from ours. I think if you gave everybody the same chance to receive schooling, you would see more people getting trades training than anything. But really there's no telling what they would do, and that's one place where any argument against this falls apart.

>>25899447
>If prices adjust to accommodate $15 an hour, then now a larger portion of you higher wage, just goes right back into the their hands to cover that wage.
the thing about the inflation argument is that inflation across the board is solely controlled by the federal reserve. Any goods the feel a higher demand after a wage increase will increase in price, but that certainly doesn't affect everything in the way some conservatives imply it would actually change the buying power of the dollar.

Wealth isn't zero sum. Workers can use their own work to create wealth.
>It's already fucked so let's make it even worse?
Like I said I don't like Bernie and I don't agree with his free college, but the education system is already fucked. His method isn't really about fixing the system, it's about giving everyone an equal chance.
>And who do you think buys goods and services? If prices adjust to accommodate $15 an hour, then now a larger portion of you higher wage, just goes right back into the their hands to cover that wage.
Can you prove that a larger portion of the money would go back to the companies? A larger amount would, but I would imagine that the percentage would be smaller. Using Mcdonalds as an example, the cost of food would raise about 4.3% if they paid $15 an hour.

National debt is not the same as household debt
None of Bernie's revenue generating policies are listed to balance out the costs.

If he genuinely wants 90% tax rates, he is wrong to do so (the ideal rate is lower than that), but an increase in the top rate of tax is desirable.

And so on and so forth. I don't know why I bother defending the policies of the only candidate who could bring Social Democracy to America (an idea far too nice to ever actually happen)

Furthermore, you need to consider the fact that doctors who specialize are in school for a very long time, which means that those people often have loans to pay up the ass. They need a high pay to compensate for those loans and to actually get ahead in life. It's called delayed gratification. You do understand that some medical specialties have really long residencies (I.e. General Radiology has a 5 year residency + fellowships if you want to specialize + 4 years of med school + 4 years of undergraduate studies). There is a reason why these people are so educated and earn so much money -- they have an extremely value set of skills that morons like you need when you get ill. Otherwise, you'd get misdiagnosed and die. LOL

tl;dr you don't know what the fuck you're talking about

Got accepted into mit, and scholarships pay for 85% of my shit. Became smart, and stopped being lazy. It's not luck, honestly. Luck is some bullshit that salty or retarded people say.

realistically, Hillary Clinton is your next president

I'm voting for Sanders in the primary even though I live in a red state, but I'm almost sure Hillary will get the nomination

>McDonalds replaced cashiers with machines in Seattle after the minimum wage became 15 there.
Businesses work for their own self interest. Should workers be paid shit wages and compensated by tax dollars so they can keep their jobs?
>Now a robot was cheaper than a person
The rise of automation is a large discussion in and of itself that not enough people are talking about. What are we going to do when AI/robots are cheaper than a large portion of the jobs?
>And outside the service industry, you don't need the job to be in the US.
The US is mostly serviced based since most of the production has been outsourced.

Lol bullshit.

When canacucks and yuropoors have free healthcare, there is no fucking way it costs $15 trillion.

Congress controls the budget. Sanders's programs will never see the light of day. His plans are like the ACA on steroids, and it took a lot of compromise to get that through. The congressional pendulum is due to swing the other way in this coming election.

The more likely scenario is that Trump becomes President, and the GOP gets the House and Senate majority. Think about that one.

>you need to consider the fact that doctors who specialize are in school for a very long time
this. It's not about how physically difficult the job is. The job might be very easy to do for the specialist, but thats because they spent 10 years + at uni and med school making that job second nature to them. You pay for the skill, not the worker

yeah because everything happens for a reason right :^)
nothing irrational about 13 years of training to produce a radiologist, there can't possibly be anything wrong with that system, it has to be the product of 100% rational economic impulses

I'm late to the thread, but hopefully not too late to call you trickle downers all retards. Who do you think gives them money exactly? Do you think people with $400k salaries eat at McDonald's?

Let's recall that no one here makes more than $100k/year and WON'T if you keep believing your interests are the same as the big businesses you're protecting.

Recall that the minimum wage REQUIRES you to get a second job or receive government benefits

You are being conned, just look at the gaggle of fuckfaces you have to vote for in your primary. They are each backed by religious or corporate machines that give not one shit if you're sick or uneducated.

>saving money
>with no customers

The idea is that it's a bad business practice if it makes them lose profits from less traffic. The consumer has a voice and power over the decisions of the company through their willingness to spend on that company's products. It's like how BP stock tanked after the gulf oil spill and lots of the gas stations went out of business, except that whole thing is much less deliberate.

Really, the only way to tell them that it's not okay to automate their services is to put those restaurants out of business and allow the competition in the area to overtake them. Some other chain that didn't decide to use self-registers in their burger joint will get a great increase in business because McDonalds made a retarded business decision thinking as linearly as you do.

>He'd fuck the economy so bad spending all that money trying to make everyone the same.
Why, exactly, is it a bad thing to tax people making egregious amounts of money they will go to any length to keep?

>after he fucks with the healthcare system. Like Obama didnt already try and fail.
18 million more people are now insured than they were before the ACA, and even hopeless NEETs can be insured under their parents until they're 26. We have spent four times as much money on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan than the money that has gone to funding the ACA. Health care price inflation is at its lowest point in 50 years.

>Trump is the cure. Trump will no longer continue to pay the outrageous prices that many corporations force the government to pay for basic needs. And the rest of the country will hopefully follow that example.
He won't have to pay those outrageous government prices once he outsources everything to third-world hellholes and nukes any credibility we've managed to salvage with the international community after Bush left.
