I'm into fantasy games more so than science fiction, although I do like science fiction sometimes. I'm also confident in my masculinity and sexuality so this doesn't really make me make. It do want to clarify though, you seem to think otherwise in the sense that when you play a game you inevitably will be in a fantasy make believe world, so you saying that because science fiction is rooted in reality it makes it more masculine, but it doesn't because you are still actively engaging in a fantasy make believe setting. So, we can say that the subject matters more, the themes that occur and such. Most fantasy games are centered around ideas of traditional masculinity, these games also interest me because living in the modern role, the past interests me, and adding magic, stuff that is esoteric is also interesting to see.

Both genres can include themes of traditional masculinity, such as, courage, bravery, valor, dominance, conquering, triumph in battle etc. I play games because I want to escape reality sometimes, you are doing the same thing, doesn't matter what games you play. It more matters what the subject and themes the game incorporates.

Cyberpunk > low fantasy > Sci-fi > shit > high fantasy
