Depends on how he's written though. When he's ambiguous and written as a person who truly believes he's saving the world from an alien threat I like it. It makes sense that Superman could turn on the Earth at any time he likes.

American Alien isn't the best representation of Clark's character. It's a decent story so far though. In the context of the story, he's been mistaken for Bruce Wayne after dragging someone to safety on his Yacht.
