Well state side you work 3 to 6 years at $50,000 (comes to about $35,000 after tax) when you are doing your training (residency). After that you become a big boy doctor and start making between 200k for a gp and 400k for specialists. Private practice and more advanced specialty earns even more.

Now with that said, you tend to work 10 to 12 hour days in most of it and tis usually a bitch. Also malpractice insurance takes a good $20k.

Working in england for such a tiny salary just defeats the purpose for anyone to even go to medschool, like, its so much better at that point to just toil with anything else and claim government benefits or plain MOVE to any country anywere.

I get depressed every day thinking of how fucked doctors are by the government and insurance companies.

I had the option to go into high-finance and become a wall street thug, but I decided to do medicine and save lives, taking on a huge amount of debt, and I'm going to make practically no money when I finish.
