Why the fuck would you even go there? Only time I ever go there is when someone from reddit comes here, posts a link and says "OH YOU GOTTA READ THIS GUYS!!" Then I read the topic or article or whatever and I come back on post on 4chan.

Some subreddits are pretty good for a certain purpose. Such as r/SyrianCivilWar. Reddit is a decent social news site for that purpose but quickly falls off into an abyss of meme regurgitating ciclejerkery once you leave it's narrowly defined purpose.

I use reddit and 4chan, used to be all reddit until a year or two ago (memory is a bit fucked). I much prefer it here.

Short answer of their differences: Reddit, people say stuff for their reputation.

4chan, people say exactly what they fucking mean to say. Popularity be damned.

Now, reddit, its much easier to find shit you are interested in, but I don't use it to talk anymore, because if you say anything that isn't hivemind-allowed, you get banned from that subreddit of shit you like for being 'argumentative' and 'non-accepting.'

4chan, I can go on /n/ and tell them /n/ stands for niggers and nobody gives a fuck besides telling me to stop being a tard. Word for word, their own thoughts on the situation. Here, people speak freely. Reddit, people speak correctly.

I went and looked at Reddit years ago when it was getting popular, and fucking hated it. You can't have a conversation on that site. I see screenshots all the time and wonder why people go there. I don't see what's in it for the people that go there.

You don't. You're not supposed to.

It was never intended to be a discussion board. It was supposed to be a content aggregate site for people to share news stories (Hence: Reddit. Read-it.).

That's why the comments system works the way it does. It was essentially like the comments on a news article or youtube video. Popular ones at the top, you can up or downvote posts, etc.

Obviously, it morphed away from its original form with the addition of boards for politics and other debatable topics, but they still kept the old comment system.

People who like Reddit are people who can't stand actual debates and discussions. They want to be in a hugbox, so they flocked to one.

This right here, it's such a pointless shithole to post in because it's entirely based around group opinion, i only go there for very few reasons, too see tech or advice type places that simply won't get responses here, or for porn, there's some good shit on reddit or porn surprisingly.

I've taken a few looks whenever I see a link in threads I'm interested in and I really hate the layout and I'm already here, so I never bothered looking beyond that to see what the community is like. It can't be much different than any old forum with the upvote system and names though.
