dude just be yourself and don't care about any laws or rules go take what you want man nothing can happen if you just put your fingers in your ears and say YOU CAN'T ARREST ME REEEEEEEE LAWS ARE JUST MADE UP WHAT IS LIFEEE
>>25695856 OK, real talk. If Obama blatantly broke the law (like vetoed a bill, but even after a 2/3 majority of congress reinstated the bill, declared that it was void), what would happen? If a police man shot some kid on the street for littering, but he vandalized his school 3 years earlier, would that officer be prosecuted?
>>25695889 im not afraid lol ive got an authentic Japanese Katana folded over 1000 times and i've watched plenty of youtube videos of overweight fucktards close that gap before the filthy dumb gunslinger scum could draw am i right?
>>25695852 >I'm a free inhabitant >Read the Articles of Confederation Articles of Confederation were replaced with the Constitution March 4, 1789. US police are being trained how to deal with these idiots because some of our cops are that stupid.
actual practicing lawyer here. I'm lmao'ing at OP's thread and some of the replies. Laws exist. Law, by default, is probably the only thing that a man has created, yet untouched. There are no other animals that can replicate such a complex system as the law created by man. Just because you got fucked by your legal system it doesn't mean that its just in peoples minds and it isnt real. Yes, you cant "touch" it, but yet you follow it and you will follow it.
Also, if you didn't know, legal systems, methods, principles and legislature are interpreted very differently between YUROP and the US. I could elaborate even more, but its pretty boring. In the end, law is bullshit, but it pays well and it exercises the mind. I believe this boards lurkers might like my line of work. For robots out there who dont know where to major (and being shit at STEM) - go law. Specifically - tax law or criminal law.
This is a fine demonstration that social constructions, contrary to assumptions commonly made, do have concrete consequences. It also shows the mutability of these constructs, that a law can be relatively easily repealed, and yet the new law only just created still has force behind it. Likewise nationality, economy, society itself.
Today's lesson for robots: "If you must break the law, do it to seize power, in all other cases observe it."
>>25696729 you need proof? look at yourself and around you. Look at the government of your country. What controls them? What makes a man behave rationally? Why do we make deals? Why is there a certain speed limiter in your city? Who the fuck doesn't let you exceed it? Why does the police exist and try to stop you every time you actually try to go out above the speed limit? Law is real and it exists pretty much everywhere. You are following it right now. Believe it or not, but the internet also has its own laws.
>>25696746 law can be both. I used to think that its just a bunch of crooked assholes and jews making contracts and screwing everybody around. Not really though. In criminal law, lawyers are probably one of the most sophisticated people out there, they just get shit on, because they believe in their client and defend him up until you can't appeal. >inb4 its for money >lawyers actually can work for free (bona fide) >if your client is too poor, you can actually work for free or make the state pay his fees
its simple and it works.
>>25696775 i think OP doesnt understand that there are different legal systems, because he doesnt believe in law at all. What other proof you need? There are countries that give you jail time for speaking out against your own government, while doing the same thing in another country is completely decriminalized. That alone shows that a thing like "law" actually exists. Sure, it has an element of faith in it too. You have to believe in some virtues etc..
>>25696999 you will get sanctioned, not shot. If you act like an ape, you will get treated like one. If you are a threat to anyone, you are going to be observed and/or isolated, how it should be. A modern person should know how to behave in a modern society.
also, "don't pet a lion" can go a long way. Traditions, principles are a form of law. Example: a man is innocent until proven otherwise. Its not a "real" law everywhere. Its not written, discussed outside of courts and/or reported everywhere, but people have followed it for ages and still do. Traditions and principles help build a strong legal system. Also, through experience. If you kill a man, the country you are living in want to make sure that you don't want to do that again and put you in a jail for a certain time, if you are released and immediately kill another person, you will be treated harsher. Same can go with your lions analogy. You dont pet it, but somebody might be stupid enough to do so, and when he pets it, he gets fucking owned by a lion. If he somehow miraculously survives the lion encounter, theres a small chance he will try to pet it again (because of his previous experience), otherwise, if he tries that again, he might not be so lucky again.
don't listen to this retard. International commerce, maritime law and insurance or corporate finance, do it while we're still riding the oil tidal wave. It'll be impossible in 30 years to do anything here.
>>25699975 except law ruling society is not bending over to big brother government, but in fact the opposite - that law should constrain the acts of the government, against dictatorships, oligarchies, kings
>>25699907 Yes thanks to the complete and utter failure of every politician in the history of the earth, I keep a special branding iron for the slaves I have shackled outside my palatial warlord compound. Its a shame I have no government subsidized or regulated health insurance if I should injure myself while shooting neighbors with my personal howitzers. And don't get me started on how theres no financial oversight regulating the monopoly I hold on the leeches everyone uses to purge the impure phlogiston out of our bloodstreams when we get sick. On a related note, one of my slave-wives prattled on something about a 'right to vote' the other night as I was torturing her for my own amusement. Hah! Women voting. Just kidding, voting in general, implying we have a democracy LOL! I pass my own laws because I own the most guns!
>>25700048 There was a thread yesterday where we discussed how there's more oppression in a democracy than in a monarchy. When a monarch screws up, the people revolt. When a government screws up, the people vote differently (sometimes).
The law is a social construct, no different then the idea of ownership, race, or gender. The idea behind the law is to manage society and decrease behaviors we find unacceptable (like dogfighting or rape).
To say the law doesn't exist would be like saying that ownership doesn't exist, parents don't exist or morals don't exist. It is an abstract idea, not a thing. There is no barriers physically stopping you from breaking the law, like there are no barriers physically stopping parents from denying their kids.
In short, you are a retard and a first year philosophy student, instead of asking "why" you should be asking "you want fries with that?"
>>25700167 But you see my point. Just because a guy with a gun decides that's what's best doesn't mean it's what everyone decided, and even if everyone decided that all men are rapists and should be watched over with security guards, that doesn't mean it would be right.
Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It is a social construct. By your definition, intellectual property doesn't exist. By that definition Social norms don't exist. By that definition your autism doesn't exist
>>25700241 Except that is bullshit, you read s few red pill bullshit threads about how easy life is for women. Most women get a little time off, but many of them still do at least 3 years, (keep in mind the average time for a rapist is 5 years)
>>25700248 Then why aren't you Anarchist yet? We've established that laws are here for the state to establish dominance and claim they're "protecting us." They're pissing in our fruit loops to get us to eat their policeman crunch.
>>25700335 Even anarchy's will have their laws, especially if a powerful group of people can exert their will upon you. "The system" isn't perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than a lawless wasteland.
Holy shit, teenager detected! That shit doesn't work asshole. Here is how your little anarchy fantasy would play out for you.
>try to hunt/gather since grocery stores don't work without anti-theft laws >on the way get a tasty peice of bushmeat >Chad takes it since he is bigger than you. >Chad shoves your head in a toilet for being a retard >Chad beats you up since there is no law against it >no ownership means he gets your house because he is bigger
>>25700518 >just being peaceful with each other If you honestly believe this you are incredibly naive. We wouldn't need laws if everyone was a good person. Even with laws bad things happen, so why would getting rid of laws and law enforcement make everyone a good person?
>>25699911 you're an even bigger retard mate. Everyone already went there. Theres no market for lawyers to specialize in oil, insurance and especially in commerce, because of nepotism and the fact that literally every college cuck lawyer rushes there. Criminal law will exist and will make money simply because of apes in our society. Also - international law + civil law = masterrace. There arent many lawyers in there because of zero popularity and there are some serious gough to be found there for signing international contracts and shit. Bottom line, dont try to enter any "law", which largely involves economics and finance.
>>25701033 >there's no market for lawyers to specialise in law, insurance and commerce
are you serious
i'm not talking crude oil, i'm talking all the oils in the world, fucking palm oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, fucking your mom's ass oil. There's big talks heating up about toppling the English dominance and revisiting the Vienna convention with problems of receipt re-addressed, meaning huge market shift and the centre of arbitration moving from London to HK or NYC. Also lol, going into criminal law because of chimping out, yeah there's gonna be work but it's fucking peanuts unless you're big time, and we all know someone browsing /r9k/ isn't big time or ever gonna become big time. For every single millionaire there's 500 thousand others pinching for legal aid doing work for hobos. "Signing international contracts"... Fucking Americans. We're not making custom contracts, we're creating more standardised contracts to avoid that, if you want your own contract you go inhouse or hire big names.
>>25700212 Except he's right according to what you wrote. If morality is just >behaviors we find unacceptable then you have a subjective morality. If it's based on groups of people, any and all behaviors deemed (un) cceptable can change, and this makes morals a matter of opinion which means they essentially don't exist.
