I managed a 50 day nofap streak last year and really thought I was done. I also quit 4chan the whole time. But the number 1 problem with nofap is the psychological obsession that develops towards the "streak". It is inevitable that you will break it one day, even if you make a rational and conscious decision to do so. Once that streak is broken, your subconscious feeds you feelings of guilt and failure and you end up bingeing and jerking off to appease them. Back to square one.

Total abstinence is unrealistic and probably unhealthy. But at the same time it is practically impossible to limit and moderate porn use when it is so easily available. I would love to get to a point where I can jerk off say, once a fortnight and really enjoy it without porn and then go about my business. But it never seems to work like that
