Most active 4chan users today first went on /b/ when they discovered that's where most of the memes started, found the sick humor funny, discovered niche boards and finally find a home board that interests them and they stay there forever.

I'm still a newfag, an aged newfag but nonetheless one of the waves of cancer that infected this place, and I remember the days where I laughed my ass off at Advice Animals and rage comics on Cheezburger sites. Then I migrated to Reddit when I found that's where most new content is created, and found out about /b/ through various "le /b is horrible don't go there xD" references. But I found the shit on /b/ even more hilarious than anything I've ever seen. That's when I found out 4chan is where the fun is and slowly blended into the culture. I was always a gross, autistic outcast throughout junior high and high school, so I felt a real connection to everyone and it wasn't too hard to blend in. Now I'm finishing college and I've never gone a day without at least checking out /tv/, /pol/, /int/, or /r9k/. In face I'm pretty sure /r9k/ was the second board I've ever visited, and I always end up here no matter what board happens to be my home board for the month.

I'd say you have to be at least a little strange to want to stay on 4chan, because honestly, why else would you want to call this shithole your home.

It slips often, but typically it's something that people would get the meaning of. I've gotten my few aquantinces to use the words orbiter, practice GF, and dindu. Nothing like JUST or Chad or something that's hard to explain or not something the average person would find funny
