Where do you robots live?
I'm in Los Angeles. Took pic related a few nights ago up the Elysian Park trail, Angel's Point. I'd recommend anyone near check out the view sometime, not many people come up there.
I live in the Frogtown area or whatever the local hipsters call it now. It's by the LA River, pretty comfy. Just me and my cat in our apartment.
>tfw el nino storms were overhyped
San Jose, CA. Just a 6 hour drive from you, OP!
SJ is boring as hell. It's just a fuck0huge suburb with a downtown that is all business buildings.
I want to go to Disneyland. I haven't been in years and want to check out Cars Land. I hear it's really fun.
Nice name. I live in a small town in the Midwest. I've never been to LA, but I want to visit sometime. Mainly because of its relevance in skateboarding history.
I have family in Sacramento and have been up there and in SF a few times. That was pleasant. I really dig SF's always chilly weather.
You're probably not too far from me, I basically live on the backside of the Hollywood Sign hill. (Near Lake Hollywood.)
It's anti-comfy, everybody's an over the top chad or stacy here.
Fuck, we have a lot of SoCal/LAfags here. I go to PCC right know so I know that area well. (Azn QT central amirite?)
I used to live in Sac myself, spent most of my live here in LA but did 4 years up there with my
Terrible place, but I really like SF. If it weren't so damn expensive I'd move there, I love the cold weather and being able to wear a jacket all year. (And QTs in winter clothes all year too.)
It's is, at least in my community. I don't even care much about having no gf, I'd much rather walk by the river and enjoy the water flowing ambiance anyways. Then come home to my comfy little air conditioned room and shitpost, hearing cars rush by the freeway in the distance.
Pic related is Bel-Air when I drove there. Now that's anti-comfy for a robot, sure looks nice though.
i remember being obsessed about living in la after watching mulholland drive. i know it's a cult movie and normie as fuck in terms of movie but that movie simply did something to me.
>Fuck, we have a lot of SoCal/LAfags here. I go to PCC right know so I know that area well. (Azn QT central amirite?)
Indeed. The entire SGV is teeming with qt's. I went to school across the street from PCC.
ah i was looking for the phrase 'struck a chord in me'. not a native english speaker sorry.
is LA infested by SJW and preachy people? or do people don't give a fuck there and just enjoy life (or at least pretend and try to)?
It's pretty insane.
I keep telling myself that this semester is the one where I get a QT azn GF but it never happens.
Last semester I actually tried, got really friendly with a couple QTs in my classes, and then they all turned out to have BFs. Shit sucked.
Texas college station. I live in a apartment near a&m. Summers are hot. Winter lasts for 1 month a year.
We have a lot of SJWs, yes.
We have more turbochads, though. I often think that I'd actually be a normie, maybe a minor chad elsewhere, but LA is fucking nightmare mode for dating. Those "nobody gets laid in LA" videos exist for a reason.
I've literally never dated or banged a girl from LA despite almost 30 years here, it's crazy. One girl from the midwest, one from SD and one from Texas.
I'm working toward a degree in PR.
Sounds like a crazy major, but I actually had a successful job in it before school, and I'm just getting a degree so I can get a position with more money and less hours.
Also, I'm not Frogtown guy. I live over by Universal and WB, so the commute is a straight shot on the 134/210 and is 10 mins without traffic, 20-30 with it, not too bad. Only part that sucks is the bullshit right turn when I get off.
Ah sorry, had you confused for Frogtown guy.
I miss Pasadena. My student/work ID use to get me into the Huntington Library for free and I would go there all the time. I love just walking around San Marino too.
Good luck at PCC, that's a great CC.
wow, do you live next to me? i live on fletcher and ripple.
>move to Bellevue for a job
>work near a bunch of car dealerships
>Shit like Aston Martin
>See a fully chrome Bentley
>walk past high end repair shop for lunch
>stuff like this every day
I live on the west side, in Culver City. Rent is expensive as fuck but the lifestyle is great, I can jump on a bus and be at the ocean in 20-30 minutes, or faster with a car or bike. I go out strolling around the movie studios or up to Baldwin Hills and look out over the whole city/ocean.
I have an hourly job driving a delivery van for a flower company and it's pretty great. Cruising all over the city discovering new places, from the South Bay to the valley to the hills and canyons, in a cozy little van full of live flowers. Stop for lunch or to take pictures of amazing city views whenever I feel like it. Come back with an empty van at the end of the day, clock out and go home to hang out with my cat and shitpost.
I used to hate it when I was younger but after living other places I realize it does have a lot going for it. Being two hours from mountains, deserts, oceans, and LA is badass once you get a car.
Delivery jobs are really the best way to discover LA, I think.
I used to work for an ad agency at Highland/Santa Monica and did courier/runner work all over town, from the far west side (Original WoW launch at Blizzard was one of our clients lol) to the east. Great way to learn your way around.
Damn, the whole bunch of us live in a small area. I'm basically 101 @ Barham.
I'll swear there's something about Hollywood that just breeds us robots.
Also double post but fuck those Universal motherfuckers for getting my 101 exit closed.
Now traffic around here is a motherfucker and I have to creep up goddamn Ventura/Cahuenga to get home.
I've been thinking about it too. PNW seems nice, most of what's good about LA but without the bad parts.
Also I'm a skifag and the shit around Seattle BTFOs shitty Big Bear.
Silverlake or some shit probably. My little bro is in an indie band and they play around there.
I don't think so, I'm too much of a recluse.
Appreciate the offer though.
Live on the border of LA county and SB county. It's whatever, there's neat shit but it's too far to walk, public transportation here is pretty shitty. I'd take the metro to Hollywood regularly but the station is all the way on the other fucking side of the city. When I have free time I'm too exhausted from work/school to really do it, sucks.
My sister lives in the bay area though, I visited her and SF and Berkeley are really neat.
Never been to San Diego though, what am I missing out on?
If you think where you're staying at during the winter is depressing, I've never seen snow in person because of this place.
Thats look great and comfy anons
Try to live in this eastern block communist architecture its just depressing
Not surprised. I'm a little confused as to why I see 3-4 New Yorkers a week though, they're more than double our size, don't even see them on other online communities, the fuck do they do all day?
Live in Royal Leamington Spa, or just Leamington if you want, the student town for the University of Warwick in England.
Nice looking and safe but fuck me if it's not expensive to live there and far from the uni. But it was either that or living in Coventry so the choice was quick.
you just don't notice them because they don't talk about where they life as much, and don't mention 420yoloswagbrah
I actually haven't found that at all.
Haven't really messed with the FOBs, but the Asian-Americans are super chill. I've even gone out for drinks as the "token white guy" with classmates and stuff.
Little question. I have a friend that will go to a community college in Cal, near Santa Barbara I think. She said it's one of the best for what she want to do, study psychology (or something close).
But aren't community college the olace where they send all the retards and autists? I'm a bit worried for her that she loght go all the way there, still pay a shitload of money, only to get a worth less degree.
Vermont, Burlington to be exact.
It's cold as shit right now, just about 2F if my thermometer is accurate. Comfy though, blanket and heating while it snows.
Vermont might be a tiny out of the way place, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
doubt they could pull this shit off nowadays will all the surveillance
Though there is this one guy who often takes semi/almost nude photos of model girls in public places in and around SM
community college is literally no different than the first 2 years of University, and most people do it to save money compared to paying for University classes and moving when they can start out at their local CC. You apply to transfer the fall of your second year and then next year you attend UC, CalState or whatever. And in Cali we get tons of people who move to Cali for college and start out at CC as well as international students. Community Colleges advertise far and wide to attract international students because they pay extremely high tuition compared to CA residents
CC is common for anybody who either wants to save money or has a reason they couldn't go directly to university.
I'm currently in CC because it's been 12 years since high school and my SATs and stuff are long invalid, but I'm finally working to get the degree I should have gotten ages ago, and no real college will take me until I do a couple of years of CC.
Also, CC is cheap compared to uni, and if you're broke, it's actually free thanks to financial aid refunds. (I'm saving my financial aid money for uni, though.)
Okay thanks! I was a tad worried for her.
Pic related is her if someone sees her in Santa Barbara next year.
These guys covered it pretty well already but I'll add that although there are a ton of retards at CC, there are actually many very bright students as well. Some are international, some are there for financial reasons, and some just didn't take shit seriously in HS but got their act together later in life.
I'm the anon that used to live in Pasadena, now live in Redondo, and I was a total fuckup in HS and spent three years at CC before transferring to Caltech.
Some CC's are considered better than others for transferring. I know PCC and Santa Monica are well regarded and I believe the CC in Santa Barbara is as well.
I live just outside of LA.
I'm down the street from MtSAC, a couple blocks behind the 7/11 across the street there.
PCC anon here again.
Yeah, there's a lot of 'tards at CC, but it's not too bad. It's kind of funny how the professors I think are the coolest end up being the least popular, I had one like that last semester.
Also, you remind me that there's a girl who lives and works in your area that I think is absolutely amazing, but she has no interest in me at all and it stings like a motherfucker. (Super QT azn girl who cosplays Kancolle and is a literal rocket scientist at Boeing [I think, might be L-M or other.] down there.)
Great. I just didn't want het to spend money for nothing, I was surprised to hear from her that apparently the CC where she wants to go is one of the best in the field she wants to study in.
Yeah, I always found the most popular professors tended to be the easiest ones and thus the least likely to properly prepare students for the harder course work once they transferred.
There're tons of aerospace/defense corps in the South Bay, that's actually the reason I had to move from Pasadena.
That reminds me, I've got to call her.
Going to a CC and then transferring is a great move, it can just be hard to stay focused and motivated surrounded by some of the slackers there.
It was pretty much three years of hell for me, I couldn't wait to get out.
What was funny is that the professor I liked, I found incredibly easy (like, right every paper an hour before it was due easy) and yet we only had like 10 students out of 40 by the time finals came around.
And yeah, there's a ton of aerospace down there, you might even work with that girl. Hell, you might even be her for all I know, that'd be awkward.
>Hell, you might even be her for all I know, that'd be awkward.
Kek, yes it would. I'm not an Asian qt though.
I work at SpaceX but I know quite a few people at Boeing in El Segundo and LB as well as Raytheon and LM.
Chicago's really great. Especially during the summer when all the festivals are going on. It's nice to just get out and walk around the city sometimes.
But it's cold af right now so fuck that.
Also, I've posted a million times, but I'd love to go work at one of those AS/Defense companies down there. I did PR in motorsports before going back to school, and I'd love to do it for cool shit like fighter planes, rockets, or drones.
Doesn't ring a bell which is surprising since I love classic Porches. Do you happen to know what department or what his background is in?
Our main parking facility is offsite so its likely I just never saw his car since I park closer to our building.
I know a guy with a blue M3 but can't remember seeing a red one. Again, most the interns park off site and take the shuttle so that could be it.
Get to bed son. I work hard for all of your shirts.
sup senpai. I like this town just in terms of the cost of living being low while there still being some shit to do for fun. I own my own home and I will never be a bay area cuck paying $1000 a month to live in a shoe box
You should definitely do it. From my experience most of the people in PR/media at aero/defense corps aren't really passionate about the places they work, its just a job to them and subsequently we don't have the highest quality employees compared to say the entertainment industry.
If you are actually excited about doing PR work in this industry I'm sure you could kick ass.
Cape Town, South Africa
This picture i found describes where I live
The Porsche guy has a blue 914 with a 2.7 Carrera swap, he actually had a feature article in the PCA magazine a while back, and is AFAIK the only 914 in R-Gruppe. He used to moonlight at my shop and was the race engineer on the team I was with.
I think he's at N-G now, last I heard he'd been recruited for the B-2 successor program.
The other guy probably didn't stand out that much, he was just one of my clients and I remember talking to him about his internship because he showed up in a Space-X fleece or something once.
community colleges are especially based in CA. I did my AS for only 800 bucks or so in tuition. That said this only apply to state run CCs not the university of Devry Pheonix you see in a strip mall. Also I knew a ton of burnouts that were on year 4 of a 2 year degree but you get lazy fucks everywhere
Yeah, it's basically why I'm in college right now. I was able to get a decent job in motorsports PR without a degree, but aerospace is all big companies that demand them.
I'm a gigantic aircraft geek, too, so I'd be ecstatic to work around the industry at all. I'd be an engineer if I wasn't fucking retarded at math.
Some small town in Texas near houston that no ones ever heard of.
>dream life is a tiny cozy new york apartment with a nice view of city lights at night.
anyone know what kinda jobs there are where I can get this in New york? an IT job?
Ayyy lmao. What do you even do in Medicine Hat?
At least rig pigs are less annoying now that all their trucks are being repossessed.
But it kills me that they're blaming Queen Notley for it.
I'm pretty sure that's not possible at the moment.
My classes were only like $800 for a full semester at CC, and if I dropped to many I'd lose the rights to financial aid.
I guess maybe if you get the full-on financial aid that covers rent and shit (my ex-gf got that), but I'm waiting until full university to get myself into that.
California is bigger than SF, LA and SD senpai. There are massive chunks of the state where you can live in the woods all alone or in the desert all alone or in a quiet farm town of 3k people and be alone
>Ayyy lmao. What do you even do in Medicine Hat?
Well, spring summer and autumn I kill gophers, otherwise I just hate myself, drink, and work, and try to combine all three as often as I can.
Supposed to be an engineer, but fuck if that didn't get shot in the head last year and left me hopeless.
this was like 3 years ago for me it was an ez way for 18 year olds to get 5k worth of neet bucks. I think the hard core niggers would buy fake IDs and use random SSNs and keep repeating the scam year after year after year.
>914 in R-Gruppe
Damn, that's impressive. I'm really wondering how this slipped by me. How long did he work here?
Our co-founder and VP of propulsion is a pretty big Porsche fan, I believe he has a GT3 track car. I'm sure he would know of him.
I actually tutored a qt in Calc back in the day whose dad was the project manager for the B-2 program back when it was operating out of Pico Rivera. Small world man.
Stick with it. Like I said, it seems like almost everyone working in aero/defense who isn't an engineer is only here to get a paycheck. If you're passionate about the industry people will notice and you'll really stand out.
Man, I kind of wish I could bring myself to do it now too.
I have about 5k on my credit cards, it'd be nice to wipe that out...
>Supposed to be an engineer, but fuck if that didn't get shot in the head last year and left me hopeless.
Man, we're all pretty much one form of this or another, aren't we?
I wish this were an actual bar where we could all hang out and drink our sorrows away, instead of just a faceless virtual one.
Also a bar with lots of cute girls there, obviously. Ones with really low standards.
>Also a bar with lots of cute girls there, obviously. Ones with really low standards.
Eh, I'm a robot with no interest in sex, but I can appreciate a good stripper show when I see one. Get a nice curvy one doing a go-go dance in a cage and I'd be there dick-in-hand. Or pencil-in-hand. Drawing or fapping both feel good.
I live on the tenth floor of a luxury condo in the Byward Market area of downtown ottawa. I can see the tower of the parliament buildings from my balcony. Would post pics for proof but it's night and all.
Another socal robot here. I live in the poor people area aka south la. Living here kinda sucks but at least my school give me a ton of money to spend on my stupid bullshit for no fucking reason plus I basically have a free ride
