Sounds like a crazy major, but I actually had a successful job in it before school, and I'm just getting a degree so I can get a position with more money and less hours.

I live on the west side, in Culver City. Rent is expensive as fuck but the lifestyle is great, I can jump on a bus and be at the ocean in 20-30 minutes, or faster with a car or bike. I go out strolling around the movie studios or up to Baldwin Hills and look out over the whole city/ocean.

I have an hourly job driving a delivery van for a flower company and it's pretty great. Cruising all over the city discovering new places, from the South Bay to the valley to the hills and canyons, in a cozy little van full of live flowers. Stop for lunch or to take pictures of amazing city views whenever I feel like it. Come back with an empty van at the end of the day, clock out and go home to hang out with my cat and shitpost.

Live on the border of LA county and SB county. It's whatever, there's neat shit but it's too far to walk, public transportation here is pretty shitty. I'd take the metro to Hollywood regularly but the station is all the way on the other fucking side of the city. When I have free time I'm too exhausted from work/school to really do it, sucks.
My sister lives in the bay area though, I visited her and SF and Berkeley are really neat.

community college is literally no different than the first 2 years of University, and most people do it to save money compared to paying for University classes and moving when they can start out at their local CC. You apply to transfer the fall of your second year and then next year you attend UC, CalState or whatever. And in Cali we get tons of people who move to Cali for college and start out at CC as well as international students. Some are international, some are there for financial reasons, and some just didn't take shit seriously in HS but got their act together later in life.

I'm the anon that used to live in Pasadena, now live in Redondo, and I was a total fuckup in HS and spent three years at CC before transferring to Caltech.

Some CC's are considered better than others for transferring. I know PCC and Santa Monica are well regarded and I believe the CC in Santa Barbara is as well.

You should definitely do it. From my experience most of the people in PR/media at aero/defense corps aren't really passionate about the places they work, its just a job to them and subsequently we don't have the highest quality employees compared to say the entertainment industry.
