>>/g/ got called out
Don't remember what he said
>>/s4s/ was a mistake
April Fools' joke that reminded moot of early 4chan so he decided to make it permanent, he also said that it's one of his favorite boards
confirmed for golden age
One of the questions was what years he considered the best on 4chan, and he said 2006-2007 because that's when 4chan had a major impact on culture (Chanology etc.)
>>/pol/ was right
He said he doesn't hate /pol/ (or anything else for that matter), the fuckery in December was just moot being moot (and also trying to drive out newfags)
He doesn't give a fuck about everything from the Internet recently, like "SJW", ideological wars, Tumblr, Reddit or any other shits. It's like he doesn't just leave of the 4chan as an admin, but he does leave of the Internet too...
At the same time, I can't blame him...
>/g/ got called out
He mentioned browsers of /g/ heavily use extensions which block ads and analytics making his job harder.
>/s4s/ was a mistake
It was an april fools joke which not too many people got and instead treated it like /b/ 2.0
m00t enjoyed it and kept it around. A happy accident.
Not sure what the rest refers too
He mentioned it once. He said something like people found a picture of his friend with a guy. He never mentioned her by name, just called her his friend. He said it relatively early in the stream.
>He mentioned browsers of /g/ heavily use extensions which block ads and analytics making his job harder.
>moot complaining about people not being botnetted
moot confirmed for botnet. good thing he's leaving
>>/g/ got called out
The extensions that /g/ made for 4chan more or less made it way way more easier to post, got moot to have to develop their own extensions and made 4chan move closer to a chat room style of discussion and had a much bigger impact on the site than people thought.
>made 4chan move closer to a chat room style of discussion
There's already a chat site that uses the imageboard layout btw, https://livechan.net/
It's like IRC but you can post meme pictures
Wasn't that kind of an inevitable development? Even the less popular boards like /int/ or /o/ move pretty fast. While you're typing out a reply, four or five new posts have been submitted already.
Yeah. someone asked if he'd sell the site to Gawker and he laughed. Apparently he doesn't have the best relationship with the Gawker people, but ran into them at a party where their photo was taken together.
Conspiracy theories ensued and he laughs at them because they don't like each other.
Yea it was when he was responding about Gawker supposedly buying 4chan. No one even knows about the picture moot was referring too... in fact if you google "moot with gawker employee" all you get are images of him with Mallory, not the guy he was referring to. moot was just trying to pull some red herring shit.
You could have easily chosen Best Girl, the only one to blame here is you.
Fuck. I don't even know the animu and I can already tell this is Best Girl.
>hatred of other cultures is not a culture
so what do you say, 4chan, you wanna bring back the golden age and stop with all this right-wing reactionary nonsense? more jokes, less being scared of SJWs?
i LEARNED about feminism on 4chan
there used to be room for everyone
Accident would be a more appropriate term than mistake. He said it was never meant to be more than just a very temporary joke about SRS being the boogeyman of the moment, but then people who didn't get the joke for some reason starting using it as like a second /b/ and turned it into what it is, which he actually thinks is good.
>but then people who didn't get the joke for some reason starting using it as like a second /b/ and turned it into what it is, which he actually thinks is good.
I remember years ago how he talked about how much he wanted a second /b/ and that /r9k/ was originally supposed to take up that role.
I never thought it would happen on accident, but I'm really glad he recognized it for what it was.
[spoiler]I was actually the one that started petitioning for #fortunes on there.[/shitiforgotspoilersdon'tworkhere]
The motto of Frederick Brennan's [censored]chan is more "free speech" and less "anti-4chan" contrary to what moot wants people to believe.
The site existed well before the September happenings. Also Brennan posted a very kind farewell note to moot yesterday that was stickied. He might resent moot to an extent, but that's not the driving force of the site. Freedom of speech, and support of #GG secondarily are the focus.
that's not even what i was talking about
4chan used to raid stormfront, now we ARE stormfront. can you even imagine current 4chan attacking racists or sexists? it's fine to joke about, but by now it's clearly coming from a place of unironic hatred. "DOUBLE NIGGER" in an mspaint comic - great. casually dropping nigger into unrelated conversations outside /b/? corny and unfunny.
i'm not condoning raids (that's the real reason you guys were banned), but what's the joke with #GG in the first place? did we get a "POOL'S CLOSED" out of it? or just more self-righteous right-wing anger?
4chan is so scared of reddit and tumblr that we adopted the opposite stance when there is no reason to. we didn't always operate like this. it's just a non-stop SJW witch-hunt now. you can't even acknowledge the existence of racism or sexism anymore.
Cultures hating other cultures is more like one of the cultures desposit all their anger and frustration into the other culture to save their own culture from strife. Like when people flip their shit about reddit or tumblr.
I was banned just for casually mentioning the word "gamergate" when in truth the content of my post was questioning the overly censorship happy 4chan mods at the time. I understand there were other people spamming gamergate threads at the time but that's ridiculous to blanket ban based off of a single word.
Now you can't even use joke terms like "h@lfchan" here, its ridiculous. (like my censor bypass?) As far as right wing hatred, some of it is justified, while some of it isn't. I'm not particularly racist but I am firmly against the SJW agenda of pushing extreme political correctness.
First time I heared moot's voice. Really less gay than what I imagined.
>the SJW agenda of pushing extreme political correctness.
This prewritten buzzword sentence is the proof that you are a moron.
Reddit AMA's are fucking retarded. All of the fucking shitty meme questions get upvoted to the top so the 'interviewee' only sees the fucking stupid questions.
>Can you count to le 3? XDD
When the author of Log Horizon went on /a/ (Whatever the hell his name was), the time whatever musician it was went on /mu/ and a few other interviews happened, it wasn't fucking shit.
it started even earlier.
i had never even heard of gaia until insecure former gaia-fags started talking shit about it
My point still stands. It's the frustrated tribal members that projects their frustrations and shortcomings on other tribes. This might increase their own status and give them an easy way to let go of their frustrations.
However, for those of us who don't share their frustrations and needs to shitfling it's just fucking annoying.
I lost the original photo with caption. Add it myself before I waste more time on looking for the orignal caption.
and here it is
>SJW agenda of pushing extreme political correctness.
what the fuck does that even mean? "free speech" doesn't mean "i get to say whatever i want and no one can disagree with me." acknowledging the existence of sexism is not state-sponsored censorship.
anita sarkeesian states at the beginning of her videos that a videogame can be good even if it uses sexist tropes. because NO SHIT. fucking taming of the shrew is misogynistic as fuck, but we study it anyway. but if you say, "shakespeare is a genius and his plays are good, so fuck you if you think he's sexist," then you're unequivocally a sexist asshole.
the problem she's pointing out isn't that videogames are sexist, it's that videogames are sexist without anyone acknowledging it. developers are putting in shitty ideas without even realizing what they're doing.
let's be honest - vidya is gonna be sexist forever. it's literally the least we can do to acknowledge it. we've got enough porn to last us several lifetimes and vidya is gonna have cheesecake forever. but pretending that it's NOT sexist is fucking childish.
we're sort of talking past each other, but i just wanted to rant about the direction 4chan has taken since "endless summer 2008." personally, i'm way more pissed that EA gutted maxis and released fucking simcity 5. now that's a cause worth sending death threats over.
