Disregarding the threads poor quality, it is undeniably related to politics as it directly discusses the upcoming elections. They are digging up information on candidates, which is perfectly fine so long as they do it legally (or at least don't implicate 4chan being involved). Plus their whole argument relies on getting information out so getting information illegally would make their argument illegitimate, so I don't think they'd do it anyway.
