Trust me, OP, it was far worse during the months prior to the US election. It's honestly got better since then, and were even fairly good following the failed GET. Threads have declined in quality somewhat since then, but definitely not to /q/ levels.

Most of the quality posters, and regulars were probably driven off by the /mlpol/ spam and then that exodus was most likely further compounded by /qa/ being frozen.
