I wouldn't really consider most grand strategy turn based. From my experience those turn based games are some form of 4X. It's a bit dishonest but every gsg worth playing nowadays is from paradox but even then recent entries like HOI4 and stellaris are not very good compared to the company's previous games. Besides the Paradox titles sengoku rance and distant worlds are the two titles that come to mind that are generally accepted as gsg. I should say that this comes from someone that has take some of his information from /gsg/ on /vg/ so there is some biased there. Just browse through /gsg/'s OP and if you don't mind both paradoxplazas for an appropriate game (one is a subbreddit by the same name and the other is the official paradox forums, which to access all of it you need the appropriate paradox game for the corresponding subforum)

I'd like to kancolle but the best I can do is watch others play it and look at fanstuff
