Most low-ranking males don't have much of a future, so they wander the countryside searching for great battles, usually working smithing trades. Orcs are strong, brutal, and extremely fun to play as. Putting on heavy armor and rushing into battle is the best way to fight.

If you play an orc, you will get access to perhaps the BEST racial ability in the game: "Berserker rage". Your screen goes all fuzzy as the rage overtakes you. You take HALF damage and deal DOUBLE damage during the duration of the affect. This can be further compounded with potions and enchantments, such that during the time you are berserk, you are totally unstoppable. No battle becomes unwinnable.
