Let's say that instead of the issue being height, it's how hard somebody works. Let's say we have a very hard worker (daily work value = 3), a single mother of 1 (daily work value = 2), and an alcoholic, pregnant single mother with 5 kids (daily work value = 1).

If we wanted to make things equal, we would give benefits to the two single mothers. Except, we can't give them both the same amount. One is clearly less capable of supporting herself. The liberal doctrine of "equality" then, tells us that because the second single mother is way more of a shitty person, she is deserving of more benefits.

Unless impeccably designed, systems designed to benefit the weak and powerless will create a population that tries to portray itself as weak and powerless.
