It's not a matter of "giving a fuck about your native Americans." The government gave us reservations. To begin with, many were hell holes. But the people who lived there had purpose and made due.

Then the indian casino industry was born. Reservations being basically sovereign land within the US had the right to give the okay to gambling and did so.

This meant that in addition to an already very healthy welfare system. (1 or 2k a month plus food and housing assistance.) They now had casinos sending checks 2-3 times a year, in some cases of 5k-8k.

Now most natives have more than enough income but not a damn thing to do with it. No point in working because food and shelter is provided. Lots of native children leave, never to return. We're slowly aging out.
