1. Very subjective and irrational, because such a small minority of all men are rapists. She probably has a higher chance of getting into a car accident on the way to work, getting a speeding ticket on the way, spilling hot coffee on herself, or being fired. 2. If a white man says "when I walk down the street I'm afraid a black person might rob me", the statistical likelihood is higher than that a woman will be raped. I do believe in "A women's right to choose", abortion has been shown to be socially beneficial in a number of ways. See Freakonomics' analysis of Roe V. Wade's effects on crime in the 90's. The issues raised by the article are isolated occurrences in a few republican controlled states. Women form the majority of the eligible voters in those states, voting as a bloc they could have elected pro choice governors but they didn't.

Anyway, even acknowledging abortion rights in hardcore red states women have far more rights than men. Custody rights, the ability to report rape and see it prosecuted, the right to not be seen as a predator.
