Just got an update from my parents, who are in the path of the Addicts flood zone:

Lakes on Eldridge, Twin Lakes, Concord Bridge, and everything East of that is flooded in. The back half of their neighborhood is flooded, and this morning the National Guard and a few helicopters came through their neighborhood of Eldridge Park. Deep water rescues and staging areas have been set up in the parking lot of the Kroger at Eldridge and West Little York. They're still waiting it out, and just watching the water, as there's still several blocks to go before the water would even reach their street. Their escape route is still clear if they did need to evac.

I don't know if y'all are familliar with any of those neighborhoods, but those three neighborhoods (Twin Lakes, Lakes on Eldridge, and parts of Eldridge Park) are some of the richest areas in Houston. Multi-million dollar homes have flooded. Mom said the whole thing feels like something out of a movie.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
