Yeh that's a good price and looks in really good condition. The SRAM Rival is about the same as the Shimano 105 and is really quite good. The brakeset is mid level but will do everything you need it to.

The Crosstrail is better if you're going to be doing some towpaths and a bit of grass and mus here and there. I wouldn't worry about sticking a rack on the Hoy though, if it's got the attachment points it'll be fine. You'd probably only add about 10kg and that's about a stone and a half, they're made for people weight all sorts so it would be fine.

I personally would choose the Hoy over the Spec but I prefer road bikes. The crosstrail is a great bike though and they're not too expensive second hand.

Regarding your bollocks, get a racing seat. They're specifically designed to relieve pressure on the right areas and be comfortable (ish) over long distances. If soft seats were better for your balls, the TdF would use them

What happened when you were 10? Any buried trauma or does it have to do with this "dysthymia" you speak of?

I'm no psychiatrist so don't take my word as gospel, but try following with the latter case, and if that does not work then choose the former case.

Might i know what your psychiatrist thinks it is?

You get one when you turn 16~ or just before, it's so you can get a job, etc similar to SSN

Contact your local job centre to request one. No idea what the requirements to be eligible are though. It's similar to a social security number in the USA
