One thing I notice in Dixie is that there's lots of cool older guys with small museums that have some of the coolest little Civil War to Vietnam collections of stuff. I went in a fucking run down old building just the other day to look at their library and there was giant Kreigsmarine flags and all sorts of guns and swords and knives and shit from all sorts of wars. I have some of the Vietnam stuff my uncles and grandfather had and they seem to want me to have the rest when they die. Nothing huge but the sentimental value is worth a lot to me. I keep my grandfather's Bible from his Air Force days next to my bed. The pictures I got in albums. I honestly love it. These older guys especially have a lot of respect for the pieces they own no matter who used it and what side they fought for. Just the one I went to recently had everything from Union and Confederate stuff to stuff from every side in WW1 and 2 and all sorts of Vietnam stuff. It's refreshing in comparison to the stiff museums where they're trying to use the pieces as propaganda. As for the Klan museum I'd go if it was still around. As far as I know the Klan's never had a presence in the county I live in. That might be due to it was pretty evenly split between southern unionist veterans and confederate veterans plus a relatively low black population in most of the county and little to no carpetbaggers so the interest wasn't there. Neat. I wish I had some family heirlooms like that. My grandfathers were wealthy slaveowners in the 1800s and became captains and lieutenants in the confederacy when the war broke out. My dad has some letters they wrote and a 1860 census thing detailing how many slaves they owned and their ages and stuff but no weapons or flags or anything cool like that.

My dad also knows a KKK guy who was in the White Knights of the KKK back in like the 60s who has a lot of cool stuff. He gave my dad an old autographed clan flag a couple weeks ago.
