>The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf announced Wednesday that all of the mosques in the capital will be closed on Friday in an effort to encourage worshipers to come pray at the gates of the Temple Mount, a move that could lead to more violent clashes.

>In addition to calls for a "day of rage," Fatah also declared that Friday prayers would be held in the main squares of major Palestinian cities and sermons would be dedicated to the Al Aqsa Mosque and rallying against Israeli security measures.

>Hamas is also preparing for a deterioration in the security situation, calling on the Palestinians to join the planned protest marches in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem on Friday after noon prayers.

What might happen I believe is Turkish AF helping the new deployed TFSA with air support or in a defensive manner but this narrative still stretches a little too far as Turkey would take under their umbrella all the deflecting units from HTS

>In pictures: ISIS throws in all it has to prevent the Syrian Army’s liberation of Deir Ezzor

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:30 P.M.) – Car bombs, artillery guns, machine-gun manned pickup trucks and Inghimasi fighters (elite infiltration unit) were all deployed by the Islamic State on Thursday in yet another assault on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in eastern Homs.

Attacking the newly liberated hill of Mashirfah, ISIS militants managed to kill a couple SAA soldiers and seized some armaments before withdrawing to their initial positions.

Photos released by Amaq Agency on Thursday showed a suicide bomber blowing himself up amid the onslaught on the imperative hilltop that overlooks many key neighboring sites

Two photos of dead SAA soldiers were also published by Amaq Agency in the same batch but Al-Masdar News has decided not to release the graphic images.
Over the past 24 hours, the Islamic State has unleashed a handful of short-lived offensives against the SAA, targeting government forces across several points in southern Raqqa, eastern Homs and on the southern border with Iraq.

Worth noting in this regard remains that fact that ISIS did not gain a single inch of ground but simply looked to inflict as many human and material losses upon the SAA as possible.

This attacks are by no means random either; they look to discourage the SAA from its strategic pincers towards Deir Ezzor, an eastern city which has been subject to an ISIS-imposed siege since 2014.

Reminder that war in Ukraine started not because someone wanted to secede, but because people didn't want to be ruled by the (((government))) that came into power by coup d'etat. (((Government))) that represented interest of western pro-european parts of Ukraine while completely disregarding interests of eastern pro-russian ones. And said (((government))), instead of de-escalating conflict while it was still possible (east was pushing for federalization at this point), decided that the best thing to do is to start an """anti-"""""""terrorist"""""" operation""" against their own people.

Yes this is the most possible scenario that will play out. But what I dont understand is, since the Kurds in Afrin didnot accept Russian demand of giving up the area to SAA and coming under their protection. They have been under attack by at first Turkish artillary then their alied FSA assualts. This mean Moscow has given Ankara the green light to take Afrin. Now this attack on idlib, is it also a part of a collaborative strategy or is Turkey doing this own their own now (which I think is not likely)?

>does Iraq have an army
Yes. The second phase of the War in Iraq (including the troop surge etc.) was basically just the US building Iraq's new military & government, but initially they only had a glorified police force after the invasion.

USA control over the Iraqi government slowly decreased in the years after its installation, I think

Iraq has full diplomatic ties with Syria. In fact, the Iraqi airforce does airstrikes on ISIS in Eastern Syria... in direct communication/agreement with the Syrian government

Iraq condones the PMU and has integrated it as part of its armed forces.. well multiple PMU groups are in Syria right now fighting alongside Syrian forces, and many PMU groups have heavy funding/training ties to Iran

Iraq is not a US puppet anymore. It very well may have been, but the Americans gradually lost control

Thats my take anyway.

My theory is that it had to do with public desire to withdraw as many troops from Iraq as possible, and politicians more or less went along for fear of being voted out.

Oh damn, I was not aware that Russia was wielding such influence in that area

Anyhow, how the hell did the USA allow that to happen; I though the gameplan of America was
;1. Destabilize country for X reason
2. Implement pro-USA government
or
3. Keep said country destabilized

So how come that the USA is apparently loosing influence left and right, hell even Turkey is a wildcard at this point as I see it ?

No. The whole point of the second stage was to re-stabilize Iraq. That's kinda just anti-war stupidity. They claim we did it all for a temporary de facto OPEC seat held via American control over the Iraqi govt too, because we didn't actually take their oil. Kinda ridiculous. But Bush was more or less seemingly genuine about democracy, to such a point he gave the majority of Iraq (Shiites) control over the now-federalized Iraqi government (formerly Sunni-dominated) and then the Sunnis revolted because they weren't in control anymore. Basically got insane after that because we were basically beholden to Iraqi interests in their war and had to fight a sectarian conflict on behalf of the Shiites.

When you come to the point of being regarded as a people's hero, you hold big influence on people. When you speek, people listen, and every government has dirty secrets to speak about. You can greatly influence the political tides in your country. As you see, this does not work in the favour of the government, your government does not even have to be dirty, if a people's hero has a diffirent view on something than the government he still has a great power to change people's view in his favour. This is why they mostly get killed off, makes no sence to imprison them, they lose no influence in prison, probably even gain some. This is most likely why Givi got killed, i remember, in 07-08, we had a great purge of such people in my city. None of the murders ever got solved obviously. And everything point's in govenrnment's direction

The anon you are talking about is not an afghani but a US contractor working the under Triple canopy. Atleast that is what he says he is. IS is a threat to both China and Russia, granted they are getting more recurits, but the only faction that can defeat them is not the Afghan army but the Taliban. This is not not a ringing endorsement for supporting the Afghan Taliban. They are simply useful tools which can be used to achieve their (Russian and Chinese) interest which are to uproot US from Afghanistan, defeat IS-k to secure the Central Asian region.

The government might do somethong that he disagrees with after the war, and if he voices his oppinion, the people are likely to side with him. This doesnt mean he's disloyal. An example from my country. There is a guy called Sefer. He was the highest ranking bosnian general during the war. The top commander of the entirety of bosnian millitary forces. His loyalty can not be questioned. He has prooven that he is absoloutly loyal to bosnia. No one can question it. Djring the war, he gathered proof, that our president's right hand man was actually a rouge spy working for all sides. He voiced this, this doesnt make him disloyal, it makes him loyal actually. Shitstorm ensued, and he was relived lf the position, but he regained it again. His proof was not even taken into consideration. There was an assassiantion attempt at him, but it failed, killing his wife. Untill this day, he claimes that guy, our president's right hand man was a rouge spy, and since his oppinion has weight, it is now universially regarded among the people that that guy was indeed a spy. Now Sefer didnt do anything disloyal, he dodnt do anything to purpusfly hurt the governent, he tried to help it. But assassination attempt was still attempted at him. Indirectly, he still hurt the government as he shook the people's faith in it

No China didnot support them either through training or arming. It was all done by US, gulf state and us. They did provide diplomatic support and some small arms but they kept their distance.

Who knows really what is going on inside syria's army, once you step in that territorry you are really talking about some deep secret agent shit that we cant possibly know about yet. As i said, it's unlikely that Assad will start killing his commanders, but fuck knows what is really going on there, and what will happen in the future, we know about stuff that happens on the ground for everybody to see, but we can only guess what is really going on inside

US estabilishment of the 80-90s were much more pragmatic, they knew they cannot overextend or it would end badly. I hope Russian and Chinese officials understand it as well nowadays, because if they will send some top ATGMs and thermobaric RPOs to Taliban, it's going to be terrific for Afgan security after IS-K is done with.

No no no no, IS-K are genuine Salafi-Jihadis (at least I believe so) recruting as an opposition to Taliban nationalist-dominated "terrorism market" in Afganistan. Pashtun were there since beggining of the state (and even before) while Salafi-Jihadi ideology was spread there through US overextention in wide support for Salafi movement, which also Saudis and Israelis helped in.

>Talibans are hardly labeled as terrorists.

Well. I never heard about talks with terrorists. So calling them terrorist would be wrong.
>14. Welcomes and encourages the continuation of the efforts of all regional and international partners of Afghanistan to support peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, in all formats, working toward holding early, direct talks between the

>hardly labeled as terrorists
Means it's hard to call them terrorists given the circumstances.
When you have a plague of Jihad spreading all over the country, is it worth labelling Pashtun nationalists as terrorists, or is it better to slightly support them diplomatically (RF & China) and counting on the best outcome against IS-K expansion?
Of course Burgers will be pissed if they take some random Taliban Konkurs strikes, but isn't it more safe than letting IS-K dominate the terrorist scene of Afganistan?
