Yes, it is the best version, but there is only one problem that I recognize with the KJV, which is that it doesn't distinguish between Hades and Gehenna -- it only says "Hell" in the Bible, which makes it dubious whether Jesus went 3 days into "good" part or "bad" part of "hell". If you only read KJV, this will be unclear.

In John 1:29 it says:

So John isn't going around saying "COME TO ME, I'M THE ONE BAPTIZING YOU AND CLEANING AWAY ALL YOUR SIN", he's actively pointing to Jesus time and time again, they "followed Jesus". That's why John said "Behold the Lamb of God" which takes away the sin of the world.

This becomes even clearer in Acts 19:4 where Paul himself says:

It had to do with being righteous and fulfilling the word of God and being obedient to God. He set the example of obedience to the Father by being baptized.
