I met this guy at the mosque in Vancouver Washington sometime last year. He was with a brother or a cousin, and a random white toddler, who I think was his girlfriend's kid. I only saw him there one time during a Friday prayer.

He was a new face, so I talked to him for a few minutes and learned that he just got out of jail for selling drugs, and had guns on him when the police arrested him. He said he was an Iraqi refugee, and couldn't go back there or he would be killed. I said he looked Algerian, but he said he was Iraqi with Algerian roots. His name was Hashim but he went by "Ash".

He was wearing camo pants, and prayed in the back. When I saw him praying, I noticed one of his legs (I think the right leg) was cut off and he had a prosthetic.

He said he used to work for the US military as a translator in Iraq. That's how he lost his leg.

This guy talked straight up ghetto speak, like ebonics, and fluent Iraqi Arabic.

He was totally out of money and looking for under-the-table work. I didn't have anyway to help him, so I just left when he started talking to one of my other friends. He seemed pretty helpless. One other guy asked him if he could go back to Iraq, and he said he was in danger from being killed by ISIS if he went back (most Iraqi refugees say this).

I was absolutely shocked to see his mugshot here. How is he connected to the Seth Rich case? I'm not up-to-date.

I think it was Spring/Summer 2016 when I saw him at the Vancouver Mosque (ISSWW), because it was sunny out and people weren't wearing coats. I don't think it was during Ramadan but I may be wrong.
