Yes, the Old Testament is just as important as the New. But, the Old dealt with the old convenant, which was retired after Christ's sacrifice. From that point forward only those who follow Him enter heaven...

I went to a Catholic school from fifth to eighth grade. It was full of old sister's still trying to teach "the old way" none of us got the yardstick though it was talked about.

We learned about the jews and the holy land and why we should be nice and accept them but there was ALWAYS an underlying layer of subtle discontent Espically around the subject of israel similar to jealousy is the best way to out it.

It was like whenever any of the sister's mentioned israel or the jews they all looked like they had a bad taste in they're mouth. When we would ask questions about Judaism they would answer but with a frown. That's the best way I can explain it. Like they were following rhetoric but totally unhappy about it. All in all any conversation about Judaism or anything they were required to teach about it didn't last long.
