The average person who wants pills will get them from his doctor if he wants them, because the doctor knows he's losing business if he doesn't give in, the patient will just find someone else. Same with antibiotics for colds, and long term use of benzo's for insomnia, and hormone replacements for women who can't deal with being post-menopausal. It's the one down-side of a privatised healthcare system, that it encourages doctors to worry about pandering to patients to retain them as clients.
