I posted the link to this pdf yesterday on what I suspect to be one of your posts.

don't be a retard spamming these threads one is enough. we gave serious answers at first but we don't like lazy assholes that don't try themselves. it takes us time too to search for the stuff you ask.

Is that it? Why are others telling you to fuck off?
Do I have to use glue?
>>
>>520510
Others are telling him to fuck off because he posted something that was easy to find and was already on the board.
If people can't be bothered to check the board first they don't deserve easy access to plans.
The link the original thread was also posted there and this one should 404 soon so everyone stop replying

Yes you need to use something to stick the paper together (glue) maybe you can use staples or thread to stitch the paper together but glue is still recommended.
if you have questions about glue and other methods go here

>>
>>520661
so what are you trying to make ?
just use this method
http://www.instructables.com/id/Create-faceted-paper-objects/ you can find a lot of nice low poly .obj's on thingiverse
>>
>>520661
i am following that one.

it's a jackalope head (a rabbit with deer antlers) im making to hang on a wall
>>
>>520668
ok good luck, maybe try to increase the amount of triangles because I at not able to see a rabbit in that, a jackalope head has no pepercraft yet

I know I already have it, I just used a render from thingiverse that I had already on my pc. I downloaded it together with the papercraft.

not good. since it's my first time making one of these from scratch i made an extremely basic error.

I made it inside out. im going to go back and start again in a few weeks

now im making a lion head and it's going much better
>>
>>521963
here is what i've made so far. should only be one more days work
>>
>>521964
finally got this done

i think i lost a piece, so i had a big hole in the top, so i put a red napkin there so it's kind of like a head wound. i don't know GoT so i don't know if that is significant or not.

i don't think it looks too bad...ish
>>
>>522722
the pieces seems to be all there
just try to glue the top together

it turned out better then I expected, when I saw the 3D model I thought it would look like shit.
maybe some more triangles would make it easier to determine that its a lion

Really thinking about making this. Got the PDF and everything but I really have no idea how I would start folding this. I've got access to an epson A3+ inkjet with epson thick matte paper (used it for folding a net for a packaging project and it's sturdy and very good for folding) but I just look at the PDF and none of it makes sense.

New to papercraft. New to this board.

Can anyone tell me roughly how to stick all the shit together once it's printed and cut out? The guide is good when covering how to make the 3D model but then it's just like 'yeah brah then you just stick it together'
>>
>>523008
was this printed A3 or A4? I'm trying to work out how big it would be if it was A4 but I can't find any pictures of one with anything to give a sense of size

In the process of making this stag head after hours in the studio. Studying graphic design has its perks in the form of cutting mats, steel rulers, hot glue guns, good paper, a +A3 inkjet, and a big well-lit room with loads of desk space.

Got the neck and two ears done, with the right ear attached.

I may have shot myself in the foot though, I started building from the base outwards since at the very beginning that was the only shape I could identify for sure, so it might become tricky to stick the tabs once the shape begins to close up, but the last tab will be tricky no matter how I do it so I dont know.

I also found it very confusing in that the numbers and guides are on the inside when just about every other pepakura tutorial had the numbers and fold guides on the outside, and I only realised that after sticking some of the tabs with hot glue. And by the way, the only thing the hot glue was good for was that it meant the tabs I'd fucked up and had to separate were easy since they were basically held together with blobs of plastic. Hot glue is a piece of shit, it dries solid the second it comes out the gun while still remaining hot enough to blister your fingers and is inaccurate as all fuck. I've found that the best job was done by a simple pritt stick since it's quick drying, immediately sticky and strong. I use paper glue and a palette knife for any bits the gluestick cant reach.

>>524293

I found the rabbit one

http://jan.krummrey.de/2015/03/papercraft-easter-bunny-download/
>>
>>524424
thank you :)
>>
>>524423
Yeah, you usually want to save the easiest things for last otherwise it will be really difficult to close the model. Good news though, the base is flat and hidden so you can just cut a hole in it and then seal it without worry.

This specific papercraft is kind of really shoddy and seems to have been made as a proof of concept. Its unecessarly difficult with the random unfold numbering. Its not intuitive which piece is what until you start gluing them and realize you've messed up.
>>
>>524428

Yeah tell me about it. I've got the entire head finished though without much issue so at least if the antlers fuck up I'll have a doe. It really does become an absolute clusterfuck at the antlers though and I get what you mean about it just being a proof of concept, it's insanely difficult to make the fucking antlers. I'm managing somewhat but I'm having to sit and think hard like a game of fucking chess before I make a decision to stick a tab because I want to be able to get my fingers into place to hold the tab against the glue and also consider if doing it that way might hinder gluing further down the line.

My game plan is just to finish the antlers and stick them into the holes, assuming the antlers dont fuck up somewhere, they're really proving to be a fucking logistic nightmare.

I'm just gonna make the fucking bunny next.

Hi. Super new to the board and I was looking into making a few of these for my kid's room. Etsy has this on the site but for 60 dollars not made. My question is that it shouldn't be too hard to make at home right? Or should I get the easy mode one for 60?
>>
>>526539
I thought that was a free model off instructable as a tutorial on how to make basic papercraft, papercraft isn't worth 60 dollars anywhere.
>>
>>526547
Not really etsy has pdf's for sale and some full kits paper and all.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/157410808/papercraft-kit-deer-stag-head-mount
>>
>>526566
I can't believe its that easy to make money off pre made models
>>
>>526571
Is it a waste to get one? I don't do papercraft and I wanted to make one of these for my kids room. I don't have supplies so it's nice to know all I really need is glue.
>>
>>526575
One great philosophy I was told was: If you don't have the money, you will need to spend the time. So I think if you want to buy it, fine. But really all you need to make it yourself is paper, a scissors, and glue. You could even make it for less than half that price. And if your kids are able, make it with them.
>>
>>526575
Just make your own. Tutorial here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Create-faceted-paper-objects/ Its pretty simple and straight forward. Maybe edit it in blender a bit or whatever you want to use. It shouldn't take more than 3 hours to find a free 3D model somewhere, simplify it, import it into pekakura, and get a pdf out of it. Maybe a bit more time if you want something well designed and not a horrendous nightmare of a template like the one in the tutorial.
>>
>>526585
Winterwhateverhisnameis aside, I didn't know people begged for low polygon textureless papercraft
>>
>>526585

Gave it a try on a random model just to see how long it would take. Only took about an hour to get from a random 3D model to a somewhat reasonably do-able papercraft. All that's left is finishing touches. It could be better if I bothered to put more time into it.
>>
>>526614
Good job cutting off half the sentence.

Oh I forgot to upload it...
https://mega.co.nz/#!XQEi0YLT!RXOKaxWT2JA9UadAL7WxzEAz23SSXAdogLr8BQxyGww
Its easier than the deer head but not as easy as I wanted. I tried to group them in a reasonable fashion but its not perfect. I recommend starting with the jaw first or it will be really difficult later. Other than that, the rest of the piece is fairly easy.
Only real problem is I forgot to invert it so when you assemble it, what's on the right in the 3D view is actually suppose to be on the left. Refer to pepakura's "Check Corresponding Faces" tool if confused.

they are pretty easy to make, I bought one and "found" some others but they are overrated.

They have no taps and some pieces do not match like they should.

making the masks yourself with the method explained here is the best way to get a mask.
>>
>>529707
Sure, but its this damn saturday and i already found a few :^)

i just wished i had found the stag too

Ill probably look into 3d low poly modeling when i have some more time on my hands, looks pretty promising

I'm really new to this. The instructables site which can be found buy searching "Out of this wall" over at instructables. The creator specifies size A4 paper and at least 160 g / m^2 but where can I buy this paper in the US?
>>
>>529728
hm I would say go to an office supply store, they may not have A4 in the us. since it the standard size all over the world I assume that there will be stores selling it.

If you find the A4 paper the store will be able to tell the g/m2 it is written on the box.
>>
>>529707

this is the tutorial again btw

http://www.instructables.com/id/Create-faceted-paper-objects/

its pretty easy to make a mask from a .obj file this way
>>
>>529728
Unless you live near a specialty paper shop, you don't. The US is a pain when it comes to getting paper weights right and most places simply don't carry A4.

Just use letter 175g/m2 paper that seems to be really common and cheap in most coverstock/cardstock sections of office/art supplies.
>>
>>529738
so would you mind if the us finally switched to metric ?
It would save it would save millions of dollars each year. It will only 12 year to pay for itself.
