Its more than that, the horizons are on different levels on each side of her, it balances angled lines and straight lines, the cliff in the background is another angle coming towards us.

Rule of thirds/golden rule, him being so overpowered by piano and positioned in the far corner, I just find it more pleasing and more interesting to look at. It looks cleaner to me, without unnecessary top of the walls and badly cropped piano legs. You can still see that it is a piano, the gray/white contrast on the wall is more noticeable etc. The composition is just nicer to me.

The world would be boring if we all had the same taste. There is no right and wrong here. The uncropped ones are also fine to me, I just personally find a cropped version fresher and it is something I haven't seen as much as the uncropped one. But just by looking at some technicalities and elements that are supposed to make a nicer composition (e.g. rule of thirds in this case), the cropped one achieves them and the original doesn't.
