I'm trying to improve my botanical knowledge, and have been taking pictures of plants in my area in the hopes of identifying them. A few I recognize, but if you find outsole have any info or advice it would be excellent.

You need some background understanding of botany terms and a good field guide, possibly a small field microscope, and a ruler to really identify plants. Its the same way you identify insects in the field.

I bring pic related with me when I go camping. It's fun getting familiar with local plants. This book has a section about poisonous plants too if you wanted to kill yourself at any point.
