>catalog, search "edc, everyday carry" nothing found
So let's start an EDC thread.
Moleskin, and dual tip Sharpe.
Keys, paracord, p38.
Zippo, surgical mask nd bandaids in wallet.
Wallet (cash, cards, hunting fishing license, library card)
Knives (CRKT Folts Minimalist, Appalachian Trail folding knife)
Phone not shown in pic.
Semi-serrated tonto folder.
GPS maps on phone.
Emergency Jackson ($20 bill).
I honestly don't think I would ever find myself in a situation where I couldn't make do as long as I had those five things.
Ugh you should see what I deal with at work
>Newports and Bic
>Motorola Handheld Computer
>Zebra Bluetooth Printer
>DEX Cord for computer
>Stack of paperwork and checks
Note 3 to take the pic. Also replaced the spyderco with an izula 1.
I didn't even notice the Zippo, lol. Those things leak fuel so quick you'd have to be insane to rely on them. BICs will store forever, though.
This made me think of the scene in the Postman, where he finds the Zippo in the mail truck and it lights after a decade of not being refilled. Who greenlighted that? I like my postapocolyptic movies to be realistic, dammit!
How is that a tip fedora? You have any clue how gay you sound when you say that?
I travel through out the state for work, go into some ghetto places, so that is why I carry a gun. The knife is for work too, seeing as all the packages are heavily sealed, I need to open them. I work at night so the flash light is needed.
How about you post what you carry now...or are you one of those basement dwellers who has no life, never leaves his house, only shit talks what other ppl carry?
Ppl always ask why ppl carry gun, flashlight and knife. That is me giving all three of my reason's, so I don't have to explain later. You'd know that if you were not such a new fag. So go away you autistic fag. So I only really offended the gun with just one sentence, not any entire paragraph.
>I travel through out the state for work, go into some ghetto places, so that is why I carry a gun.
>The knife is for work too, seeing as all the packages are heavily sealed, I need to open them.
> I work at night so the flash light is needed.
now setting your posts on ignore, so I don't have to read your gay shit.
God no, just never ceases to amaze me.
would vary based on where/what, etc. If you are in your vehicle, you should have a mini-bugout/get home bag.
Saying phone is fucking stupid. Everyone has one and most don't put it down to look around any more...
keys? Of course, we all have vehicles and doors.
Me, always have a knife and fire starting source.
$/cc's goes without saying.
everything else is based on the activetly at hand. I literally have about 15 different EDC's depending on where I am and what's on the plate.
ok? the post you replied to isn't an inordinate amount of stuff to EDC. hell, i carry a rough equivalent to every one of those items except for the headphones, USB cable, and whatever that "survivor" thing is next to the pen
pls go anon
if you ever want to stop whatever they're doing, just tell them and they legally have to stop as long as you're not on drugs/semiconscious.
it sounds like you know it's an irrational fear, but it's really a hell of a lot better than slowly dying from some bitch ass preventable disease
>Flashlight ... so handy
In my pack
>Radio/speaker-mic, Leatherman OHT, water bottle, earphones, sometimes a laptop... more pens/pencils, flash drive, eye/ear pro, zip ties...
Well, since 2007 that I think that I may have cancer and I never was courageous enough to go check it or talk to someone about it. The fear of the result it's worse than the doubt. I always were a strong sportsy guy and can't stand the idea of having to go through the hell of the treatment that you have to do, to, in some cases just live a few more months.
If I have something, when the real pain arrives I'll just end it.
i'm right there with you on the whole "why go through 2 years of chemo jsut for 2 extra months in a wheelchair" thing. I'm saying if whatever is wrong with you can be solved by taking some pills for a few weeks and then the issue is fixed, it's totally worth it to get checked out
>here lies anon
>died of some regular ass shit
>what a faggot
Yeah I tried carrying a folder but it was heavy and overkill for me. I don't do very intensive work so the SAK is good for me. I wish the blade locked but I just bought pic related for heavy duty work
I'm usually not a "kill yourself" advocate, but self euthanization in the face of horrible painful death is totally different.
I would do the same thing. Live your life to the fullest, and when the reaper comes biting at your ankles you can die on your own terms.
If you can't do shit just take yourself out my family's way. Go to your favorite spot in the woods and get drunk, at the bottom of your pack there is a bottle of some formaldehyde or other shit and drink it to cap off the night. You won't live to the morning and you don't care at that point.
i feel ya. i'm on a ranch so i get a lot of mileage out of the wirecutters and pliers. if you're not it's beneficial to have a multitool nearby for heavier work
Wallet (hunting license, fold up survival guide, emergency Benjamin)
SOG slimjim XL (3quarters thick for concealment)
New Testament (for good luck and bored reading)
Hat and sunglasses
Grizzly long cut wintergreen (don't smell like smoke, wet nicotine is a pesticide, antiseptic)
>750ml stainless steel flask
I live where there's lots of sun so my Mido is a compass and I can pretty reliably start a fire using the glasses.
The smaller multitool is what I take to classes. The leatherman's 3-inch blade is frowned upon.
>get's called out on tacticool bullshit
I've been posting since the board was first made. A board for topics related to enjoying the outdoors, mind you. EDC has piss all to do with enjoying the outdoors you colossal faggot.
How the actual FUCK do you faggots carry this much shit ? Do you have a purse ? Did you hide the tampons from the picture you gigantic gaylord ? Add a fucking buttplug to your kit, this one you won't need to carry in a bag.
You laugh, but I love the shit outta my fannypack. (It's really a CD holder, but whatever)
It's really great when you wanna go somewhere in running shorts, but need keys or a phone or whatever.
I especially like it for going to rough concerts.
Mine. Clockwise from top left: butterfly closure x6, smokes/sparks, alcohol wipe, wet wipe, aleve x4, pocketknife, vinyl gloves, keys, multi tool with 5 ft paracord and a shackle, wallet containing enough cash to get me back home, card knife (backup), p38 can opener.
>inb4 drink piss; got bg gerber multi for Christmas
Actually from a 100 yen shop. I did change it out for a model with a flatter grip/body. It sharpens up nicely and is very useful for the size. In fact, most of the stuff in my bag came from 100 yen shops. That includes the bandages, tissues, sail needle, gloves, mask, rescue sheet (emergency blanket), flashlight, whistle, saw blade, heavy duty foil, safety pins, the sewing kit, and the components for the match kit on the upper right.
Kind of EDC related but kind of not. I'm looking for a hat and I'm looking at Stetson. One of the wide brimmed adventurer hats. Are they good? I'm mainly looking for something to keep the sun out of my eyes and rain from getting on my glasses.
I like waxed cotton hats in the rain, they're relatively cheap and re-waxable.
Not sure what Stetson you're looking at. The beaver felt that they traditionally used is supposed to withstand rain pretty well but I don't know what their current hats are like. I can say from experience though that cheaper no name felt hats can shrink in the rain.
coffee, cup and spoon (carried in bag or jacket)
first aid (carried in bag or jacket)
pipe stuff ( carried in bag or jacket)
items not shown
phone, bag or jacket
that SOG was not the safest nice while I owned it. Thin as fuck, sure
why bother, jesus freak
My edc doesn't even require a picture
>red led penlight
>freebie tac force folder with national guard logo
>rite in rain pen, another old freebie
And then keys, phone wallet. I never need anything else. How do I get a more interesting life and therefore expand my edc? If I'm ever doing something like working on my car I just bring tools, so I don't count then as edc, since I don't carry tools every day.
Need a wallet for edc
Going to be carried in back pocket
>bifold if possible
It's just going to carry cash, an ID
fishing license and not much else
the cheap kind
doesn't even say where its made. only says " best way" on the front. which i assume is an endorsement of capitalism and rampant consumerism, either that or its just some Chinese garbage made in a factory where no one speaks english
Carrying this over from /k/.
Not pictured is my Arcteryx Squamish hooded jacket. Since it packs small into itself I have it on my keychain just incase the weather changes throughout the day.
R8, h8, appreci8
I'd be the opposite
>not realizing the advantages of the grip extension when it comes to handling
>not realizing the advantages of the flush fit when it comes to concealment
thank you for calling it a mag though
Hey! I have a CRKT K.I.S.S. and... well... you're absolutely right.
Ah well putting it that way you definitely have a point.
Today at the fun store the guy behind the counter kept referring to the magazines as clips. Holy shit and this nigger works there! I was genuinely surprised when he said "clips"
Pocket clip or belt?
Honestly unless you have specific requirements for something super bright, these days anything LED that isn't from the dollar store is probabaly good enough for EDC, just find a form factor you like.
The top round of my spare mag is FMJ because I toss it in my pocket and don't want the exposed lead of a hollowpoint rubbing onto all of my shit
I'm sorry but I just can't into mag carriers - number one sign you're a tryhard faggot
unacceptable, mein /k/omrade. Sometimes I worry people say 'clip' when they KNOW it's a mag, they just don't want to seem too technical. Shitty world where peer pressure keeps people stupid
In all likelihood though, he probably did lack fundamentals and is somehow advising customers as we speak
>wallet that best friend gave to me before he left for boot camp
>cheap (but spurprisingly good) Kershaw
Forgot that I carry stuff in my jacket too.
>american flag for some reason
>robodick smoking cessession device
>juice for robotcock antismoking device 5000
>asprin (not pictured)
thought this would be a better thread to ask in then starting a new one. ive lost my beloved leatherman. see >>654247
it is most likely gone forever. so now i am looking for a replacement
so essentially the question is, is there something in the same category that rivals the Leatherman juice cs4? something from the skeletool line perhaps? ever since i got the leatherman crater a few years ago ive fallen in love with the carbiner/ bottle opener on it as this is after the knife perhaps the tool i use the most and as far as i know it is the same on the skeletool line.
or, do i just buy a new juice?
The blade does lock, and it looks like it is just under 7cm
>The blade does lock
well fuck. guess that option is out the window. curse this socialist utopia and its silly rules
so. its ether downsizing to a micra, a squirt or forgoing the pliers and buying yet another victorinox.
it honestly cant be true that there isnt a decent company out there that make multi tools with pliers and a knife that doesn't lock and the knife is maximum 7cm long. i mean really?
as far as dealers go i could turn a blind eye and go for the super tool 300 but i just dont like breaking the rules, doesnt mean i like the rules though
It can't lock? That's fucked up. If anything, that just makes it way safer for the user. All you're left with is a bunch of toy knives.
I guess if you need to go small, I would reccommend the Gerber Dime over the Micra. Just because like #1 reason I get multitools is because of the pliers. And the Micra has scissors for some reason. There is another Gerber slightly larger than the Dime as well, I forget the name.
It is the SPEW. I like it so far. But it is only my 2nd fixed blade, with that Kershaw Antelope Hunter being the first. And I have only owned that for like 2 days.
I feel like you get a lot of knife in a small package with that CRKT. The handle and weight feels nice. Plus I really like the sheath and belt clip how they mount horizontally. It feels better when I'm driving and stays out of the way. It kinda clicks into the sheath so it holds, and I'm just hoping that part doesn't wear too much and the knife starts falling out.
Anon don't buy the ST300, I've already posted about it on /out/, I bought one and ended sending it back since it was utterly shit. Those handles can't support any fairly amount of force, they'll bend really easy. Mine also had the pliers tip not aligned. shit/10 wouldn't buy again even if for $10, China tier model.
>It can't lock? That's fucked up
ive seen several threads making fun of the UK knive laws. but in all honesty their laws are pretty loose
technically we arent even allowed fixedblade knives over 12cm .. these are classic examples of laws that it is unavoidable breaking. it says that the following knives are exempt from the law.
1. Folding Knives with blades of max 7 cm , which can not be locked in the unfolded position.
2. If the inclusion of the knife has a commendable purpose , such as a profession , hunting , fishing, sports or other similar creditable purpose .
so yea ... our laws suck rancid shit, but we make due
Also when I got the SPEW, I was looking at a couple other knives. I really wanted an Esee Izula (the green one) so I could wrap it in a crazy cord, but Bass Pro doesn't carry Esee. So there were 2 other CRKT's I liked.
The one in the left of the pic was cool, but I didn't like the black with green handle. I was thinking about wrapping the handle in a different color, but I didn't want it to look like shit. Plus I wasn't a fan of the blade shape.
The other one I saw is kinda like the one in the pic, but the handle was wrapped in black cord and the blade was a different shape. It looked almost like a knife a chef uses to chop veggies, where the cutting edge is totally flat, and the top of the blade is curved all the way to the tip and hits it close to a 90* angle. It wouldn't be any good for stabbing hobos.
They had some cheaper Smith and Wesson fixed blades with cord handles too, and I still like that Gerber Bear Grylls black fixed blade with orange cord. But they both looked like the quality wasn't there. The Bear Grylls knives look like bottom tier Gerber stuff.
to clearway i should point out that i am from Denmark
the Lansky world legal was designed by a Dane but ive heard plenty of police not trusting that it was legal purely because it looked " tactical "
Just buy the damn skeletool and say that you need to tighten screws for work sometimes. I mostly only carry my stuff when I'm fishing anyway.
I used to live in Chicago, and they had tons of fucked up gun laws. Criminals don't obey any of the gun laws anyway, so idk why they even have them.
Now I live in Florida. Even tho I'm in an urban area, the laws concerning guns and knives are loose. There are gun stores everywhere. And with knives, you can carry anything as long as it isn't concealed. When you get to big ass daggers, switch blades, and butterfly knives, they are legal to own but you can get into trouble if they are "concealed". But when I have that bright orange Kershaw on my belt, they can fuck themselves.
Also FL had some strange law saying you can carry around guns and knives concealed if you are hunting and fishing, even if you don't have a concealed carry permit.
Yeah really. Just check them before you buy it. Mine also had pic related problem, maybe it was a lemon but I got burned so I like to warn people about it.
i find it interesting that you are mentioning knives like the izula. i have been increasingly drawn towards knives like these because the are scaleless so i could pour boiling water over them after cleaninga pheasent
I just think they look sweet, especially the lime green color. But at this point I'm debating the silver so it doesn't look as shitty if I actually use it.
Even with the silver, I could still wrap the handle with some cool colors of paracord. And if I did need to clean the knife or the cord gets dirty and worn out, I could just cut it off and wrap it with fresh cord.
well what may cause an inconvenience in America may cause a permanent mark on your criminal record here
isnt is wonderful that you can have your criminal record marked by things that are not crimes ...
>especially the lime green color.
i would be lying if i said i werent tempted to get my ESEE6 in that scheme. but at the end of the day its just too showy for me. not that a knife like the ESEE6 really is suited for ecc. certainly not where im from. but if that colorshceme is avaiable for like the candiru that would be godtier
that is a surprising amount of play. did you contact Leatherman?
you should never apologize for a warning backed up by evidence
>randomof my pictures
That sucks. Idk what your judicial system is like, but I always say "If it isn't a felony, no big deal".
The green is a little much, I agree; but I just think it would look sweet with a blue/orange paracord handle. I like the orange handle on that Kershaw because it looks like a tool a little more. While the black and forest green or desert beige tactical look makes me think of a knife more as a weapon. And I don't need to look "tacticool" while I am fishing. I like to keep it low-key.
Also the visibility is a good thing for me. I mentioned it already that I almost lost my Skeletool this morning. I have onlt had it for a week. I was using it to unhook a bass, and I went to throw the fish back and left the skeletool lying in the grass. Like 30min later, I realized I didn't have it and I had to search a little bit. A lime green and orange Izula would be easy to see. I need to paint my Skeletool safety yellow or flourescent pink.
That Esee 6 is dope btw. I was looking at those, but I don't want a huge fixed blade right now. Maybe one day I will get one to keep in the tackle box so I can decapitate snakeheads with it easier. The Ontario Rat fixed blades look real nice too.
Ka-Bar has a knife just like the Izula as well. I was looking at that a little. About the same price as the Izula, but doesn't have all the color options.
Can anybody recommend a edc blade similar to this?
That Kershaw looks decent.
At Bass Pro today, I was looking at the Gerber Paraframe, looked like a nice knife for $20. Plus they come in a handful of colors. The Kershaw you posted is nicer tho.
What about an Ontario Rat? People seem to like those around here, and you should be able to find one around $30 online. I think the Rat 1 is a 3.5" blade.
Well, at least you called the mags instead of clips. So theres that.
> all this overblown EDC
Pic related is mine, plus the phone taking the picture.
Hi guys, I'm new here
Sheltered city person who hates their lifestyle and eventually wants to live in a cabin in the woods with gf
Thank god for cargo shorts. Also belt clips. I walk around with way too much shit on me at work. And I'm supposed to be getting an iPhone from them soon, so I will have 2 iPhones on me at all times.
I might decline their phone tho. Breaking one phone all the time is expensive enough.
ayy, nice. as a pipeman myself i approve. I have a nice estate briar also and a few Missouri Meerschaum corn cobs. What's your favorite blend when you are /out/side in general? My fav (hot or cold months) is McCrannies Red Ribbon.
>Big ass lighter
>Carabiner to Masterlock to s-clip to single key
Plus all the other retarded stuff. Why?
And what the fuck is that little computer adapter? I was cleaning out my garage and found one, threw it in my pocket, washed the pants, and found it in there 2 weeks later. Now it is sitting in the cupholder in my car for some reason.
This is actually my EDC at work today as i'm typing this. I had to replace my big ass red wojak lighter.
That's better. What is that little thing with the Orioles sticker? Some hard drive deal?
The shit I carry at work is ridiculous. I think I posted about it ealier. At least like a year ago they got new handheld computers that are like half the size. I think they shoud use the same program for an iPhone or something and attach a barcode scanner. But our current handhelds are pretty durable. I always drop the thing.
Ahh, I see. So I should probably just throw it out.
Its an enclosure for a tiny m.2 solid state drive i cannibalized from an old broken laptop - i use it at work for imaging/re-imaging computers as fast as possible. Its basically a custom made usb stick that goes as fast as fuck.
Throwaway(ish). I am poking fun at EDC threads, but I love them and browse/post every day. Its interesting and fun to see the subtle differences between the boards. You can always tell who's a /g/eek AND an /out/doorsman and/or also a /k/nife junky.
Everthing to the right of/including multitool is carried only sometimes or when at work. Kershaw cryo, fenix ld09, leatherman rebar, lg g4 with otterbox and backcountry navigator app.
