found it abandoned on a long walk i took through what in colonial times was called the old "cedar meadow" in the woods around my house on a warm indian summer day. now it's the creepiest most blair witchy forest around, and still has gnarly boney old stands of cedar trees that completely blackout the forest floor in spots. comfy if not somewhat confronting.

This was a very comfortable morning at the Hiker Hostel in Georgia. Just sitting there on the porch talking to people i'm just meeting from all over the world. We never would've met in life any other way, but our love for backpacking and challenge brought us together that day. The sun felt so good that morning. I wonder where those people are today, if they made it ( I did not)

How to make a comfy image unnerving.
Here's my comfy. Mountain refuge style. First shower in 7 days, first cold beer in the same amount of time. Stomach full of good food, watching the sun set as you smoke a pipe.

Nice. You should try camping out 100 feet or so from a swamp in spring/early summer and that's what it'll sound like, at least until it gets cool enough for them to burrow in for the night. Only problem with that is skeetos and lots of animals frequent the water's edge at night so there might be a bit of raccoon, durr, burr, etc traffic.

such a good time, i will never forget it, one of my best /out/ memories, i dont care much for politics, i was equally looking forward to Hilary winning so i could see the Trump butthurt. but the combo of waking up to that beautiful winter wonderland and the butthurt of nearly everyone else was glorious, fun that everyone who slept in the tent either didn't care, or kinda supported trump, but everyone who chose to sleep in the barn thinks he is hitler

>just got back from a 3 month outdoor ed internship with this company in the Four Corners

Also this, I was following a trail in France and it wasn't really pure /out/, more like doing the Camino de Santiago, as I was walking on a road mostly surrounded by vineyards
But when the sun was setting, the heat of the day finally receeding, the small moment when the day time bugs stopped making their noises and before the night time ones took over felt very lonely and comfy and although I was obviously in an inhabited place there was no one in sight

Just a 2 mile hike into mount Wrightson's wilderness, but it takes about half an hour of 4 wheeling and for some reason nobody ever goes near this little trail. Madera canyon on the west side attracts all the normies, leaving secluded places on the east perfect for easy romantic /out/ings with the gf or just to isolate yourself for a bit. 4wd being a requirement helps too.

Flaming Gorge is super /comfy/ when the god damn motor boaters get the fuck off the water. I don't understand why everyone leaves before the sun sets, but I appreciate that it happens.

It was taken in the Arcs ski ressort, in France
I was just a dishwasher in a huge hotel, payed minimum wage but I had a free room and meals included so managed to save some money.
Also had advantages like a ridiculously low price for a seasonal ski pass and free gear, and since I worked only during meal times I had every afternoon free to ski

Assuming you are from the USA, I have no idea how it works there to get this kind of job.
Here a viable option is just printing tons of CV, taking your car before the season starts and touring all the major ressorts until you find a job. Most of my friends do that, although I was hired differently.
Being hired at ski lifts companies or shops is harder, but if you are looking into restaurants and stuff you are bound to find something.

This is a ten minute walk from my house, miles upon miles of it.

I grew up in this place, caught my first fish, spent my first night camping here, made countless dens, hunted rabbits, shit I got my first blowjob on a patch of this grass!
