I created a bike entirely on mspaint as you can see.

I know I'm missing a lot of things on it.

Feedbacks are widely welcome.

(It's on PNG format so you can give a custom color if you have mspaint or are on windows)

I met the guy last week. Caught up to him in traffic while he was doing wheelies. We pulled over and chatted for a bit, dude looked high but whatever. He bought that FZ10 used and shit was falling apart on it, that's why I kinda believe him when he says something fucked up. There were literally bits coming off of the bike. Strange fellow though
>>
>>17701804
What's wrong with a 600?
>>
>>17701592
I want one so bad, imagine going full tuck with those fucking things right in your face, screaming through the gears to the 15k redline, all without breaking the speed limit.
>>
>>17701815
Because they are incredibly unforgiving, and you will need to be forgiven.

Just do the right thing and get a 650 twin like every adult does.
>>
>>17701795
Its the the cbr600f , which became the cbr650f.

Either way, the 300 is probably what you
want, great beginner bike. not sure where you're getting that you shouldn't get a cbr from, its only the 600rr that would be particularly dangerous

or inexperienced.

If you jerk the throttle on a 600 supersport in a corner, you will highside and you may get seriously injured.
If you do it on a 650 twin you'll get scared and maybe lowside and get a bruise and a lesson about throttle control.

They're the real deal.

These 250/300/500 'sporty' bikes are nothing more than commuters with racy fairings on them but the cbr600rr and it's ilk are actual supersports and they aren't meant for the uniniciated.

Read >>16832630 for more in dept info.

With that said, maybe a 600 supersport from the early 90s could work. They weren't quite as 'all race bike all the time' back then from what I have been told.
>>
>>17701867
Shouldn't be taking corners in a way that makes it dangerous if you're inexperienced anyways.
>>
>>17701879
There is only one way to take a corner.
And you shouldn't be riding a supersport either.

Probably mid 80's is the best, before emissions faggotry really shit things up.
Dunno about sport bikes but it was a great time for dual sports and dirt bikes. They're still plenty reliable to ride and easy to fix today and a lot of people prefer them. Those were also probably the last days you could build cheap Harley Davidsons out of junkyard parts, now all those homemade bikes are super collectible (most bought by Japanese collectors kek).
And 80's rally/Dakar bikes are seriously badass.

Jesus fuck you're stupid. Do it your way, and you'll just lowside when you panic brake as a newbie.

Instead, just leave the ABS system active, like any reasonable person would. If you panic brake, you won't lowside, and you'll know that you exceeded the limits of braking because you'll feel ABS kick in.

ABS is vital for learners, and it's a good thing for road bikes. The only place where you should ever disable it is on a track, on very good tires, with plenty of training behind you. It's a brilliant safety net for any road bike, because even the most experienced riders can panic brake in an emergency, grab the brakes too hard, and dump their bike.

This is the biggest bullshit I've ever heard, and I've only owned 30+ yo bikes - so no ABS by definition.

>Riders did fine without ABS for decades
There's this thing called technological advancement, and when it keeps me from dumping my bike because I had a natural reaction and panicked, then it's a good thing. It's especially good for new riders.

>i'm lifting the rear well before i even come close to locking the front
Good. Now try outbraking ABS. During our motorcycle courses, we tried, and I never even got close, despite almost lifting the rear wheel.

Now try never panicking, ever, in your day to day life - which is the exact reaction you're trying to suppress. Even if ABS only prevented your screwups (which is what it's designed for), and braked at 90% of it's maximum efficiency, that'd still be a good thing. However, it tends to outbrake most humans, especially in non-controlled situations.
>>

For a 750 triple it's not fast, for a touring bike it's not comfy, it's EFI but has a choke still, the hand switches are fucking retarded, it weighs a metric fuckton, and burns a lot of oil if you use the side stand because of the sideways cylinders. Mine was reliable for the 3 months I owned it until I sold it for a loss because I hated it and wanted it gone.
>>
>>17702936
Not either of those guys but my only objection to ABS on beginner bikes is that it's still a new technology and the vast majority of bikes don't have it, so if you learn on a bike with ABS, then a few years later go out and buy a 5 year old R6 and start mashing the brake like you could on your 300, you're gonna end up dead.

No. If ABS kicks in for the shitty rider, then he gets a second go, and he can learn that this isn't how he should be braking. ABS is a safety net, and the trick of a safety net is that you learn that you failed.
>but I don't think it matters on the street
It does though, even for a very experienced rider. It's just a matter of time before you overlook that small puddle, or before you overgrab a panic stop.
>and anyone concerned with becoming more skilled isn't prevented from doing so.
The nice thing of a good ABS setup is that you can actually practice with it on an empty parking lot: try and slow down from x mph until a standstill as fast as you can without tripping the ABS system. If you do that on a bike without ABS and you keep it upright, you didn't try hard enough. If you go beyond the limit of grip, you'll go down.

I still think beginners should learn without ABS until they've worked their way up to street riding in less-than ideal conditions and traffic.
New riders shouldn't be putting themselves into situations where they're more likely to encounter emergency braking situations. You don't need ABS for parking lots and quiet roads and you shouldn't be riding with traffic until you've gotten very familiar with how the bike handles and how much brake you need to give it. So practice heavy braking a lot like in MSF without ABS.
And of course, ride the speed limit, don't follow cars closely, and brake earlier when learning. It's foolproof.

Deer and beemers don't care how long you've been riding. Learning not to count on anything is best done early.

Nope. If don't crash a non-ABS bike during your learning phase, you haven't learned to brake hard enough.
If you did crash during your learning phase, you've set your own development behind by at least a year, because you will quickly fear the front brake.
Without ABS, you cannot properly explore the limit of grip - unless you really want to crash.

>New riders shouldn't be putting themselves into situations where they're more likely to encounter emergency braking situations.
That's called the public road, and there will always be emergencies there. You don't ever stop being a new rider by staying off the public road, either.

That's for bikes with the wires outside the handlebars. Guides I see for this model seem to require removing the gas tank.

literally every other manufacturer does the same thing. They make the housing and lens shape the same so it looks symmetrical, but shape the reflector differently for different light patterns on each beam.
BMW just does the asymmetrical look for brand image.

Why eventually learn to ride, while being at a severe risk of taking your precious new bike down with you? Even if it's just a shitty 250, crashing usually results in bad habits that take a long time to get rid of.

Knowing how to learn to ride a bike is being one step ahead to being proficient with one.

I've been thinking about getting pic related/something similar for my first bike.
Is that a good idea? Mostly for fucking around and learning how to not die, really want a dualsport so I can practice on dirt and asphault.
And while I'm asking stupid questions, east coast US to west coast and back, probably bringing someone on the return with a decent load of things, what kind of bike would be good for that? Something with a sidecar?

No. I lived and rode through them and much prefer today.

Prices are basically flat corrected for inflation. My 1988 Harley FXR was 8400 new and a new Low Rider MSRP is less than twice that.

You can buy all the parts you want online today and get them in days instead of weeks (or months if shipped from overseas). It sucked back then because most parts had to be ordered from a dealer or independent shop. Catalogs and flyers were cheaply printed and not nearly as informative as a website.

You can get every 1980s or 90s bike today plus all the improved models since then.

The aftermarket today is amazing. Back then it was much more limited. CNC machine thus machining costs dropped drastically so even small shops can make custom parts. I can get more quality parts for my Norton Commando or Shovelheads today than when they were in production. Maintaining and building classics is a breeze today.

There are more bikers so more brand variety and more variety within brands today.

Modern British motorcycles don't suck. That industry literally died (modern Triumph and Norton have nothing but name in common with their past incarnations) because it couldn't into quality.

Italian motorcycles are much better built. Back then Guzzi were reliable but everything else wasn't.

You can still build cheap Harleys, corrected for inflation. There are many cheap Evo Sportsters which are durable and easy to build.
