Ok, how is the dragon really?
I've heard stories that the speed limit is too low and that it gets super crowded. What is it really like?
>>17623862
Not even the best color. No clue why this is the most popular one
>>17623878
Yeah the speed limit is really low but the corners are so tight that you can actually have fun at the 30mph limit. Just don't accelerate on the straights. Having said that, you can easily just do 1 slow pass through and figure out where the cops are parked and then go as fast as you feel like.
Thursday and friday weren't too crowded, but on saturday and sunday it was pretty packed mid-day. Most drivers are pretty good about using the pull-offs to let faster traffic by. The people who don't pull off are in Toyotas 99% of the time.
Cherohala Skyway was great. Amazing views, clean and smooth road surface and nice wide sweeping corners. Speed limit here was exceedingly low at 45mph, considering most corners can be taken at 70+. Never saw a cop on this road though.
I hear if you go in the off-season the whole area is uncrowded and not patrolled by cops hardly at all.
anybody else removed their DB eater? Does it do anything for your baiku?
Mine seems to get about 20% more bang at low rev range but wont idle properly anymore (goes up to 3000 rpm without touching the throttle).
also its loud enough to give me a headache.

Really don't know why brown leather isn't more widely available as even an option for seats/trim, it looks so much better than black in every application IMO.
My seats are far from needing a re-cover, but I'm debating doing it anyway just to put some brown leather on them.

ERECTION
So, hoping for a bit of advice.
There's a nail in my back tire, I just bought this week.
Can I take it somewhere to get it patched like a car tire, or is it ill advised on a bike, and I'm just going to have to shell out another $200.
>>17625515
a blown bike-tire is a lot worse than a blown car tire so get a new one.
>>17625521
Fuck.
So patch is a no go for even something small. It's like perfectly centered too. Didn't even notice till like the end of the day cause the nail was working as a plug itself, looked at the tire cause it seemed a little low and saw it.
>>17625515
just get a plug kit and do it yourself for like $10
>>17625531
you could do it yourself but most mechanics wont risk it.
I suggest doing a sickkk burnout and upload it to youtube, then get a new one.
>>17625542
I don't exactly trust a diy kit for something I plan on going over 100mph with.
I'm trying to decide if I can trust a shop to do it.
>>17625538
>fuck you my air-filter is a wire fence!
>>17625556
I kinda figured as much.
I was going to replace the front wheel next paycheck, but I guess I'm just fucked once again.
This tire has got to be the most unlucky. It was lost in the mail twice for almost 3 weeks before I even got it.
>>17625557
>Avon, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Metzeler, and the RMA (the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association, the nation’s preeminent voice on the topic of tires) all agree that a combined plug/patch applied from the inside of the tire is the only acceptable permanent repair
If it's acceptable by the people who make the tires, you're good to go. My last tire got plugged and continued on for 10k until I changed it.
You can bring it to them if you want, but they're going to be using the same kit you would have.
>>17625575
the patches are only acceptable for up to 210 km/h or something.
>>17625582
>only
>>17625582
This is what I'm worried about.
I don't want to have to worry about pushing the limits of the patch.
I think I'm just gonna embrace the suck and buy a new one. Do what that one anon said about a burnout
>>17625602
lol
give me your old tire so I can fix it and sell it
>>17625608
Fuck that.
I paid for it, I'd rather have some fun with it.
>>17625582
That's just the extremely conservative limit for 'don't sue us', I've done 260km/h and wheelies on a plugged tire many times.
>>17625636
You guys make it hard to decide what I want to do.
Well in general it is, cause I've heard from in person both to and not to.
Maybe just get a plug and plan to replace the tire sooner than I normally would. Cause it's brand fucking new. I've put maybe 30 miles on it.

how many autistic children should i expect
>>17626735
I'd expect fat people, but that's just me.
Finally finding balance point but I over-brake when I get to it so i'm all over the place.

Are you blind? That colour scheme is fantastic.
Please don't be one of these "all Indians must be red" or "all cruisers must be black" people.

Brazil, Indonesia, India and Russia all very well represented here. Really makes you think.

>using a cable to lock your helmet to a bike than can just be picked up.
Kek!
>>17626769
The whole bike frame is locked to that pole
>>17626769
do people actually lock their helmets like that?
looks easy to cut and steal

Nice save at 1.26
What's the best way to recover control from a tank-slapper?
>>17624698
So friggin neat.

Don't get tight on the bars. Stay loose and gas it to take the weight off of the front end.

I don't think anyone wants your helmet.
>first longer daytime ride today, about 3.5 hours
>specifically don't plan a route, just follow my nose and explore
>temp around 95F/35C, 56% humidity
>drink two tall glasses water before going, maybe 24 oz
>heat doesn't feel too bad during the ride honestly but sweating pretty good, e.g. notice sweat stains coming through seams of glove cuff
>drink another 18 oz when I get home, shirt is entirely soaked ofc
>ride starting to catch up with me, several bits are tired and sore
>decide to bathe
this is where i think i fucked up
>spend 4h in bath bc degenerate and it's Saturday
>a good half of that with water hot enough to sweat (romans had some good ideas) but don't drink anything during
>check various boards on phone, watch a series of ncurses tutorials on yt
>decide to fap
>realize halfway through the reason it's taking so long is I'm on adderall and it doesn't wear off till evening
>simultaneously realize that i'm developing a banger of a headache (because valsalva maneuver aggravating it)
>headache pretty massive by the time i get out
>quickly start hydrating again, have now consumed another 24 oz water
ugh, this hurts quite a bit
I guess I need to drink a lot more beforehand. And I bet a stimulant like Adderall doesn't do you any favors when it comes to heat exhaustion.
>some bitch game me the "WTF hand" as she was half way into my lane after cutting me off
reee

There's what I assume is a Harley later on that gets a death wobble out of nowhere. That one sent the rider to the ground, though.

Should've done the bike equivalent of autistic screeching and rev bombed in her ear.
>>17626890
that's naive
>>17626836
If someone cuts the strap of your helmet, how are they supposed to use or sell it after? A lock will deter the laziest of opportunity thiefs at least.
I take my helmet everywhere with me just because I have a sena on it and thats easily stealable.

>unclip sena and put in pocket
>lock helmet to bike

Motorcycle mechanic here... We plug and patch on sports, no more than one and never a sidewall. As upsell it's recommended to replace, tho with that being said I own an 09 zx10r that at one stage had two plugs in the same rear tyre. Lasted another 6000 before near canvas and I didn't baby it. Had no problems only usual drop in pressure from use and storage.. Go nuts

Plug it ya pussy!
