The R18 and TS040 have far less deployment than the 919, so if you've been used to that one that's probably why you are confused

yes i know that, its just that on the least energy consuming mode and low amounts of slip, the ERS deployement goes up to full no matter the mode which shouldn't be happening, i was thinking that the reason is the 'Green' track condition, but i dont remember getting this at silvestone, im guessing the ers deployement is kinda fucked since its a mod track??

Alright, so the last race of BYOSB is upon us, and gg to Blackdog; provisional series winner unless he doesn't show up which probably won't happen.

So for the fun race on the nords I've decided that we'll run a stock Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89 in honor of Kraid. It's the premium one, btw.

With the end of one series, there are decisions to make, such as the next series for ovgt6, and from the strawpolls it seemed like the main two series you fags wanted was either civic cup or soccer moms. Tokyo Extreme drift 1and 2 anon. I still play two from time to time the second game has the largest car roster in the entire series.

Pretty fun, physics are kind of dated but it's a PS2 game and conquest mode is basically modeled after initial D type of race culture and every person you meet is literally a 4chan personality.

My opinion on the one-offs races before the main races is already known: they suck and uselessly delay the start of the actual event. If they could be gone for the soccer moms series that will be starting next week, with the start of the race proper moved to the start time of the one-off race it would be a net improvement of the series.
Also user generated tracks kinda suck. Wouldn't mind not touching them for the next series in soccer mom cars.

And very disappointed fat sedans weren't retained because that would have been a very good idea.

Nascar Dirt to Daytona and Driven to Destruction (known as Test Drive: Eve of Destruction in some regions)
Nascar D2D has 4 tiers of oval racing (dirt street stocks, modifieds, trucks and cup cars) and a nice career mode where you work your way up these series

Driven to Destruction is made by the same developer and drives really similar because of that. The game focuses on derbys and has a ton of different game modes to represent all the kinds of forms of racing that happens at these events and it's really fun. It might be the most realistic demoltion derby game there is out there

Nascar D2D works perfectly fine on PCSX2 but Driven to Destruction has these wierd graphical glitches. It's wierd because both games use the same engine but it's not something completely game breaking though and if it really annoys you, you can play around with the Skipdraw option to fix it. Otherwise, it's fine

I've found throughout many games that the ideal speed dorifuto technique is just taking a racing line and not using the brakes, instead try letting the car coast through slow corners and floor it out of them. It's a fun technique but not really ideal. It follows the NFSU2 rule of "Slow in fast out"

nordschleife has all kinds of corners, fast and slow, and it's like a pipe and has height difference in that it's not on an empty field like silverstone, height difference makes corners much easier to see, when you drive fast you don't see the first chicane in the horizon on monza, you have to know it's there
when you aren't doing top tier laptimes, nordschleife allows for reactive driving, which is less frustrating and easier for a new player to get a hold of than locking up on monza for 15 laps before you get a grasp of the braking point
nordschleife teaches you many skills, which transfer to other tracks

Setup is important on Spa. Do a lot of laps with stock setup, then change one thing at the time and decide if it improved your time or not. I wonder if "tried different setups" you wrote was "i did setups in different manner and nothing worked", or just "i downloaded someone else's setup and it doesn't fit me". It's important to do setup for your own driving style, newbie will gain time from different setup than pro does.

For example: start from stock, then just soften your suspension and front ARB, set optimal tyres, maybe 30% diff and see if it works for you. It's safe setup, as opposed to whatever pros do.

I did couple races where I don't horribly crash and got 14seconds behind the best ai laptime. I too thought it is very difficult. But I didn't give up. I started doing hotlaps trying to reach the time ai was getting. After first day I got to a consistent 5seconds difference. Then, as day were going on, I was getting better time and better feel of the car. Turns came with confidence and I wasn't over hasty in other situations. Got to less than one second difference than the ai best, when look at me, I am playing with mouse for a week and a half.

This is the wrong way of thinking. Performance delta and a moderate length track from 50s to 1:30 laptime is a better way of tracking laptime than learning the memering. The Nordschleife only teaches you how to drive the Nordschleife, it's not even good at teaching you how to learn a track. I'm not saying beginners shouldn't drive on it, but until a driver gets to a much higher level they'll endless throw themselves into a wall with little to learn. Shorter "boring" tracks are much better because they also allow beginner/intermediates to start experimenting with learning car setup and seeing a marked difference in how the car handles along with the impact on lap time. Your argument about Vallelunga doesn't make sense, the goal is to have consistent lap times so there shouldn't be more than a few tenths of a second difference once you've dialed in how to drive the track.

combined sim/real racing competition, first round was hotlapping in a pcars VR rig, then the second round was a day at palmersport and the F3000 times used to determine who goes to the final which is again at palmersport. if conditions are good i'll need to shave at least 4 seconds off my time from last time out (in dry but in freezing conditions)

Nah it isn't. It has completely different stats, the stats screen is glitched out and it has a different sound compared to the other M3s, it doesn't have the transmission whine like the other two
