Weighmaster here, I weighed a truck in/out earlier this afternoon and heading home I see him on the side of the road and container off the chassis.
It's a 40ft container 2 axles back and front and I don't let them leave with a gross of over 80k.
How likely is this my fault?

And of course leasing a truck is generally regarded as a bad move across almost the entire industry. Is there any point, for someone who isn't ambitious, to owning a truck? I just want to make a little more and have a little more freedom.

Applied for a new job today. Class A and B flatbed outfit hauling PIG units to various oil pipe locations. Hotel every night. $180 a day regardless if I drive or sit in the hotel, more if I can convince them to teach me how to use a boom crane. Sounds like you drive a few hundred miles to a location, they take the unit off the truck, find a comfy hotel to chill in for the next 20 or so hours, go back, they put the unit back on the truck, drive another few hundred miles to another location, rinse repeat. They say they are super busy and dying for drivers but the interview guy was out doing something today so the want me to come back next week to interview. Unfortunately I'm supposed to go back out Monday. Otherwise I'm stoked, seems legit as fuck.

A company can set up a tab with chains like Blue Beacon, and every driver gets a monthly wash credit. They have little pieces of paper you fill out instead of paying up front. So the company gives you a PO number, you give that number to the cashier, and they bill the company.

I try to be respectful of truckers when I see them trying to merge or change lanes. I usually will hold up traffic so they can because I know how fucking frustrating driving constantly is (im not a trucker, I just drive 2 hours a day to work).

Know what's going on, always expect four wheelers aren't paying attention and are about to do some dumb shit right in front of you. Got the new job, pending background and drug test. 175-200 a day regardless if I work or not. Hotel every night. Haul a pipeline tool to where ever, then post up in a hotel until they are done with it. They can teach me to opterate a crane down the road if I'm interested. CNG still needs emissions controls to meet current regulations. If emissions are your only concern then convert to dimethyl ether. No modifications to the fuel system beyond the tank are required (to prevent evaporation, much like a propane tank) and it produces no soot, so a DPF system is moot.

So if I get real nervous driving a manual car because im afraid of stalling out when starting from stops is driving a truck almost certainly not something i should want to learn?

honestly i have trouble doing the whole let off clutch slow and slowly give it gas but ive moved a ram 3500 6 speed and it would go easy just letting off the clutch no throttle

***also in trucks like macks and peterbilts how bad are hill starts? do you have to worry about stalling? can you just ease off the clutch or do you have to give it fuel too?
