Not 100% on what die cut means but the black should be transparent? It's just drift in japanesse, nothing has been aligned properly or anything I put this together very quickly so might be why it feels awkward. But I guess the nip doesn't have much to bring it into the image while the rest has the red line.

start in one corner, i'd do the bottom left as it's oriented in your pic, slowly roll/lay it on to the surface while squeegeeing as you go directly to the opposite corner... then from the diagonal line you've made do the same thing to the top right and bottom left corners... hold it taught while you're applying it

Not a bad spot at all, inside of engines are usually dry, it's just the heat but if you're doing highway driving and not leaving it parked in blazing hot sun 24/7 it'll be fine, it'll just come loose at edges probably over a few years, but it'll stick for the most part.
