They make way more than their $300 fee or so in shop fees billed to the manufacturer under warranty when they sell you the bike with the package.

If it's used and comes with no warranty then it'll be almost impossible.
>>
>>17171159
I understand. It's listed as $1500 near mint on KBB so it absolutely is a fair price. I just don't have the $300 at the moment, I'm currently in-between jobs and in possession of a 99 Cherokee that wont pass inspection but runs fine so I'm going to have to sell it.
>>17171146
I agree. The bike is gorgeius, I fell in love with it at first sight but I can't imagine the seller will let a near immaculate bike go to someone who's learning and may very well drop it for much less than asking.

There's no way in hell that bike is getting let go for 1k.
I'm hoping I can get around 600-700 for a jeep with 191k but without driver side airbag and horn missing without impact but I doubt it. Most I can get is $400 for scrap but I'd be get ripped off. The 399 is just an excuse to have a modern Ducati that isn't a fucking Scrambler in a Japanese high school girl comic book (it is a custom one off in story anyways). But Ducati has been looking at moving into smaller bikes and if they are owned by an Indian company that already makes them they will sure as fuck make <400cc memebikes for poo in loos like KTM.

>>17171539
Ducati was making great steps in the right direction the past 10 years. Would be a shame to get poo'd in the loo.

I dunno man, mine took the MSF course recently, got licensed, and bought her first bike. We did a good 4 day trip, and a month later she's bought her second bike. She's learning how to tear it down, clean, and sync the carbs by with my guidance and doing the work herself. She pitches in 50% the cost of any tools or supplies we buy, and pays 100% for her own bikes gear and parts.

You just have to find one that's interested in being capable and self sufficient in general and slowly get them into bikes. It'll take care of itself from there. We were together 4 years before she got into it.

Pilot road 4, Angel GT or Metzeler (not sure which) roadtec z8 interact (?)
Gf has pr4 on her er6, I have angel GT on my dorsoduro. The PR4 is the absolute king for anything wet, which is handy here in Netherlandistan, but it's VERY sensitive to having the correct tire pressure. 0.1 or 0.2 bar too low or too high can affect the front tire by cupping

That's a 690 SMR, the precursor to the SMC, it's heavier and lower power iirc

New rider with some questions.

How do I stop gripping the throttle with a deathgrip? I assume this is why my throttle control is so horrible. I always feel at slow speeds the bars are trying to get away from me so I grip the throttle like a barbell and very hard. Any training exercises I can do for this?

At slow speeds and puttering around small corners and such like a parking lot is it really bad to keep a foot down and continually fuck with the clutch?

Braking, do I want power going to the rear wheel still or do I pull the clutch? Seems counter productive to keep the engine attached to the rear wheel when trying to slow down but I've been told it keeps stability and the motor assists by slowing down with load

So I have been riding my CBR500R for a few years now, it is my first bike and I love it. I'm starting to look towards getting a new, bigger, bike. I definitely want a 600cc super. Was thinking of either an R6 or staying honda and getting a 600RR. overall which is the better buy? I know R6 outperforms, but I hear honda has better reliability and a better record when it comes to their motorsport division.

Go rev the engine while in neutral or with the clutch pulled. How long does it take for the engine to slow down without the inertia of the bike fighting to keep it spinning?

>How do I stop gripping the throttle with a deathgrip?
Stop being a scared ass bitch by learning how to ride properly and sit on the bike properly by gripping the tank with your knees to hold yourself in place instead of trying to hang on.

I bought it in August 2016 and so far have about 5k miles on it. No issues as of yet though the valves are a little noisy. I've been told that Yamaha's in general have noisy valves so whatever. I have dropped the bike, fell into a pothole on the freeway a few months ago. Frame sliders saved me from hundreds of dollars worth of damage though I did crack the fairing under the seat. Cost me $200 for OEM replacement fairing from the dealer. Customization seems amazing, until this recent revision, the bike has been basically the same since 2008 and even the new one just has different styling and electronics. The frame and engine are still the same.

>>17172331
It's a 2016 and yeah, I fucking love riding it. I've owned a CBR600 F4i and a CBR929rr along with some cruisers and standards and my R6 has the been the comfiest bike by far.

As far as excitement goes, the bikes pretty tame below 6krpm. At 8k+ it screams and comes alive and it is absolutely magnificent. I find the engine and transmission to be smooth, the brakes powerful with plenty of feedback.

I actually traded my FJ-09 for this R6 and I don't regret it. I got out of touring and wanted something more aggressive and the R6 fits it perfectly.
>>
>>17172345
The last question I mean more as like fender eliminators, exhaust, rear sets, levers, etc. not so much performance but comfort and aesthetic. My CBR almost nothing for it which is the main reason I would like a newer bike. Hard to make my CBR actually mine.
>>
>>17172331
>is it exciting
I4s are the most boring engines unless you're above 8k
>>
>>17172392
See I find that perfect. Highway or commuting I can stay at nice easy 4k-6k for max mpg's. When I hit the twisties, keep it at a cool 7k for instant power
>>
>>17172396
Yeah if that's what you want it's a good fit. I personally got tired of having to rev it up to get some power after about a year.

Looked what most people used most on my bike on forums.
Currently on the second set and I'm getting disappointed. At around 10.000km the front tire starts having indents at certain points of the pattern, making highway riding less comfortable. Happened with both sets now. Still have about 10000km to think about the next set I'm buying. Maybe going more off road oriented.

>how do I stop deathgripping
>at slow speeds I feel the bars are trying to get away from me

Make a conscious note and token effort to ease up a bit when you notice it. Posture will help with the escaping bars; lean slightly into the acceleration so your upper body and head don't loll back that little bit when you start rolling. I'm not saying go full racing tuck just because you're rolling away from a stop sign but resist enough that you're not literally being pulled away from the bars.

>slow speeds, puttering around small corners

Work on your balancing, you should be able to stay upright down to sub 5mph even with your feet on the pegs. As for fucking with the clutch? Do what you need to do to maintain control and not stall.

>braking

You want to combine brakes and engine braking; it assists your deceleration and protects you by always being in an appropriate gear to do SOMETHING if shit hits the fan rather than having to fish for a suitable one in a time crunch, and it's better for your bike than riding the clutch forever or coasting in neutral down from highway speeds and shit. Downshift once you've slowed to lower in the RPM's; practice will tell you what works for you and at what level of assist you want from the engine. Downshift higher for more engine resistance from the next gear, downshift lower for less etc.
>>
>>17172257
>Braking, do I want power going to the rear wheel still or do I pull the clutch? Seems counter productive to keep the engine attached to the rear wheel

start at tyres, to walhalla, from walhalla to rawson, from rawson to moe, from moe to thropdale, from thorpdale to mirboo north, from mirboo north to churchill, from churchil to tarra valley then finish in yarram, can either go back through leongatha from there or toward gormandale back to traralgon (or just go back up tarra valley road that road is epic)

Because the seat has a dildo I epoxied to it so it gets perfectly gripped by my boipucci. I never move and inch under full brake or acceleration and the vibrations on my prostate give me the most mindblowing orgasms I've ever experienced.

Highly recommend it, best $30 mod you can make to a bike.

If your can't pull a trailer with a 500lb bike in it just give up and get breast implants. They'd look nice on you.

Not worried about the travel worried about the loading and unloading alone. I ride a 929rr and it's heavy beast. When I bought it the 8 foot ramps we had were really difficult because they weren't arched so that the bottom fairing would scrape on the bed/ramp.

Reason I ask is I may have to do track days alone and I have a 1500 truck with a trailer hitch
>>
>>17173334
Trailers are low, easy to load and unload (i heard they make ones you can deuce straight off of), and often come with high capacity ramps as part of the assembly.
>>
>>17173328
But why a street bike?
Imo something like the Africa twin would be better for this.
>>
>>17173341
I'm not looking to drop 500+ for a trailer I'll use probably 3 times a year
>>
>>17173349
An africa twin is a globetrotter. Why would you need to carry a van? Just ride the thing everywhere.

A dirtbike would be the deal.
>>
>>17173349
It's not a street bike, it's an old enduro. light dirtbike would be better but I'd get whatever is a good deal.

>Africa twin
god no, pigfat adventure bikes belong in the starbucks parking lots

Van gets you where you want to go where the roads aren't too bad, then unload the bike and take that out.

That bike is no more a cafe racer than it is an enduro bike. It's basically just a 'standard' bike, a commuter style maybe, it's definitely not a cafe racer. It COULD be made into a cafe racer, but a cafe racer that one is not.

Control the throttle with the thumb and index finger only to avoid the death grip. Check that your body is stable and relaxed if you take your hands away from the handlebar. At very low speeds, you have to control your speed with the clutch. If you cut the throttle, the engine helps with braking, pull the clutch before stopping to avoid stalling the engine.
