the ranges I go to are maintained by michigan DNR so it's "free" in the sense that it's my tax dollars at work. They are both pretty good though. One of them is basically a free fire zone and people bring machine guns every now and again but it's mostly like a plinking range and I never really get good practice there except with clay shooting since there's no well defined markers for anything. The other one is a slow fudd range for accuracy shooting with defined yard sections and it's nice to only shoot just a single box of ammo over a couple hours if you don't wanna spend the money on bullets.

Spoke with a vinyl guy about this.
Peel it off very slowly from side to side, not corner to corner.
If you don't have any backing from other stickers, use a sheet of glass or something similar.
The adhesive won't be as strong as it was originally so using adhesive promoter will help you but isn't absolutely necessary.
