>>16862953
Some anon on here has a red 15 v6 accoupe in manual
weather was nice so i took my sister out to the cul de sac to let her get a feel of how to drive. Shes a fast learner, just needs time to get the feel of width. Needed to pop in and say 'left, left, dont curb my wheels.'
Only concern is she said a friend of hers has a loud car and wants her car to be loud too. Heaven help she does that to an AT honda
>>16863059
You should've asked her what car her friend has. How old is she btw
>>16863070
17, and she said her friend had a gm
im fairly certain hhe loudness if a muffler hole or something because lolgm

>>16863103
we're polar opposites, while i want to restore my car she'll probably make some attention seeker kinda like that MitsuEvoGirl
>>16862895
Unfortunately appears they only come in 15x6.5, they're like rota slips but cheaper. I can't speak to reliability but a nice thick wheel like that (((shouldn't))) have any problems. I would totally get some for my civic if they made a 16" option, I've been eyeing rota slips but they run $550 and these are like $400
>>16863026

Yeah there is tons of rocks and gravel all over the roads in Canada because winter (see all the gravel in that pic) it came on the car when i bought it. My old 99 accord got lots of chips and rusting on that part of the hood because of it, so it makes sense to keep.
I need to get a better pic in a few days, that one is old cause my car is so dirty right now.

Nice. Yeah civic radios usually are dead or hove little visibility in desplay for the election ones due to fading of ink used in it (similar to a game boy) though in your case its internals to radio and speakers ded. Id replace them but if you want a near stock look some companies do make radios to look less ricy and older. I've consider doing it to my car but idk when this will die.

Anyone tried touch up pens? Im planning on using one to write WAT Automotive on a license plate frame that i am painting black before clearcoating it all. Anyone tried this or will I have to do this for WAT documentation?
Which honda is best chassis ? Im thinking eg or ek?
Also, how much is the difference between type r and regular Honda, except the engine?
I want to build a fwd guripu monster, over time.
Any pointers? Good pages to check out?
General honda hb advice and experiences.
>>16869123
E.g. And ek are good, 4th gen preludes are a bit better, DC2 Integra is best, DC5 is slightly better but it's debatable. In the USDM the RSX-S is stronger stock but worse in track based setups without a JDM swap.
Signed, literally planning this with a DC2 Integra
>>16869123
>>16869192
>also how much difference
I mean a type R basically is the best starting model for what you want but you can't get them stateside without a pretty penny, my first pointer would be to look into what the type-r you want has over the USDM equivalent and budget out the things that are most important.
Type R's generally have better engines yes, but also chassis stiffening, weight reduction, and often better suspension packages/setups than their commuter brothers, which is what really made them stand out on the track.
>>16869192
DC2 integra is 8k here, at its lowest. Prelude, ek and eg are sub 3k most of the time.
>>16869212
I want to buy the car soon and build it to type r spec over time, if I save for type r then it would be some months until I get it, and I dont want to wait that long. Also, some parts can be improved over stock type r? Type R's are probably a bit overpriced too.
What about ep3?
>>16869230
Where do you live?
Also take my prelude comment with a grain of salt, after a bit of thought I can't really say I've seen many Preludes actually tearing up my local track that's not open track day for the beginner class. (no passing on turns, speed limit of 90 mph on straights)
EP3s are okay, but I'm guessing you aren't in the US, so I'm not too sure what specs you're running with. I know stateside EP3s are cucked on the same level as the RSX-S, JDM swap first, then worry about building the rest, but I do know they have a bigger presence at the local track.
I use vaporwave to cheer myself up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93RvNGbnlXo
>>16869260

I have this intake manifold
If you still have the stock GSR manifold here's the deal:
If you want to retain the butterfly function you'll need an ECU that supports it (p72)
The type R clone manifold you posted will move the torque up higher, so you'll want to scoot vtec engagement up a little higher as well. I think I set mine around 5150 if I'm remembering correctly.
IF you just slap it on it'll run leaner and you won't like it.
If you're going for a supercharger anyway, maybe just save the money
>>16869882
My point about the butterfly was that using the stock manifold limits your ECU choices.
If you use the type R clone you can run whatever ecu you want because there isn't a butterfly

Biggest thing to worry about is the automatic transmission. Check if the fluid is black and smells burnt, test drive when it's cold, check for hard or hesitant shifts from 1st to 2nd, make sure it goes into 4th.
>>16871277
It's actually a manual. Or supposedly is. Sometimes the ads say manual when there's even a picture of the automatic gear shift. None here, and I didn't check to see if a manual option was available yet.
>>16871122
If it's manual and well taken care of it should be fine

>>16878076
Thanks mate
Also should mention it's practically brand new, the pro series part is still plastic wrapped lmao
In my 5-speed Fit
How bad would it be for me to downshift from 5th to 4th doing like 70?
Freeway to work is 70 speed limit. Flow of traffic is around 80.
Some times in the morning, you'll get 2 people who are driving 65 in the left and center lane,
so I need to be able to change lanes and accelerate fast enough to pass them as quickly as possible since there's a truck in the right lane a few hundred yard ahead.
>>16878109
Yeah I'd be all over that. A new one for my D series is $250 without a throttle body. I'd get the headers too if they're really Mugens. If they don't leak, a little bit of high temp paint will make them look great.
>>16878123
I do it all the time if I need a quick burst of speed in my EG. Just don't accidentally hit third when going back to fifth like I did once.
>tfw 7900 RPM when my limit is 7100

>>16878109
If it has dents etc the dents really dont affect power that much. I can find the video to prove it if someone wants. Obviously dont get if they leak etc.
>>16878045
Dont forget it came with a throttlebody and IACV. It was a good deal. I'm glad you went for it. Which ECU are you using right now?

>>16878159
I'm using the stock OBD1 ecu the car came with, I really just picked the IM up because it's on my list of parts.
And huh I didn't realize they didn't come with the throttle body, I figured I saved maybe 50 bucks on shipping lol
>>16878193
Is the throttle body OEM? The Skunk2 throttle bodys sell for over a hundred bucks as far as I know. A new IACV is expensive as fuck, too. You saved a couple hundred at this point. kek
>>16878193
Is the throttle body labeled? It's easily a $100 part. Same with the IACV
Also, I dont remember what car you have other than it has a b18c1. If its a stock setup it'll have a P72 ECU.
Depending on what you want to do you could easily sell the stock p72 ecu for $150+ and then pick up a p28. (you wont need the butterfly or knock functions of the p72 anyway) Don't know if you care about money but it would be an easy way to trade into a chipped ECU
>>16878219
I believe it's OEM, all the markings it has say are "Japan" and "GL"
>>16878233
1995 Integra GSR, and I dunno, the idea is tempting but I also like to keep my OEM bits sitting around, but at the same time I dunno if an ECU is really going to make a difference lmao, I'll have to think about it desu
