Single din is those skinny units

Do you guys know if there's any single din classic style (90s to early 00s) navi unit (with indications but without maps) that can be fitted easily in a car unrelated to the one it came in? Pic related is the kind of thing I'd like, but it's rare and outdated. I know there's the becker mexico retro but it has hideous '60s styling.

You can mail your OEM headunit to an asian guy in california and he'll install an AUX port in it. >Literally looks like your phone sitting in a tripod.
>missing the point this hard
It blocks the damn vent. I care more about myself overheating than my stupid phone.
>Unless your phone weighs a few pounds it's fine. The plastic is strong unless it's sat in the sun for decades.
>what is fatigue
The vent wasn't designed to hold weight, and even lightweight phones like the iPhone 6S weight about 150 grams. It's one thing to hang an air freshener thingy weighting about 20 grams (not that I approve of it, it looks like shit) and it's another to hold a phone there. Vents weren't made for that, period.
>>
>>16822610
I will concede that some vehicles due to telematics integration are more difficult. Touchscreen shit and MyFord Touch and things like that where the CAN bus is integrated is significantly more challenging.

Most people here don't fall in that category, but a youtube video + Crutchfield compatibility check can give you a pretty good idea of what's required. Most cars 2006 or before are pretty fucking simple to replace the radio in.
>>
>>16823673
I have a 2000 Renault Laguna with the radio hooked to a screen that is shared with the clock and temp sensor among other stuff and it has a stalk control.
It has crazy shit such as not working if the key drum, onboard computer and roof lighting fixture don't come from the same car.
>>
>>16823669
Air convection exists. Also, there's more than one vent in a car. I'm sure you'll find a way to survive.

The vent may only be intended to channel air but it isn't like OEMs don't realize that people are using these things. For the longest time I've seen tons of vent clip cup holders of all fucking things in Japanese cars and a bottle of water weighs far more than a phone.
>>
>>16819935
The 7800/8800 BHS series is probably one of the least ricey, easily found deck I've come across, as well as having solid features, not to mention front/rear/sub preouts.

My brother has a 2012 Accord, standard radio is just a block of buttons and the screen is a small monochrome built up in the dash. I had the same problem as you OP (car made in 2000, aesthetic existing HU but without bluetooth or aux).

Ultimately I wound up getting a simple FM radio adapter for my phone. I don't take calls on the road (and neither should anyone) so Bluetooth isn't an issue.

Ultimately, unless you have an excellent suspension + tires + sound dampening + good roads, it probably won't be worth it to buy some audiophile system.

I think that's mostly because mainstream car people interested in car audio have no taste. They always put huge ass subwoofers and listen to music in 20-1000hz range while led stripes blink to music aggressively

Diff wheel. Mine is textured and has different horn button. It's the standard MB wheel from the '70s, many euro cars from that era has very similar wheels.

Because double DIN is disgusting, takes away the tray and comes with a color screen. I need a orange screen. I don't care about maps, indications are enough.

My car is a 2000 so it has the radio mounted really low, under the A/C controls. I can't be looking at maps that low, it's asking to crash. Same as pic related but with a CD radio instead of a tape one.
