Car Models You Wish They Brought Back
> I miss the prelude
>tfw no 5th gen
>tfw 4th gen rice tax is high as fug thanks to F&F
>tfw you will never own this TT God Machine
I had a white 88 Si, was my all time favorite car
Hope the prelude makes a return one day
Mitsubishi Station/Chrysler Conquest
Put the EVO engine in it
Keep it RWD
Manual Trans only
Update the styling only slightly
It is. On paper. Drive a 4th or 5th gen prelude then any accord coupe and you'll see they have nothing in common other than the configuration and badge. The prelude was low, wide and planted. The accord coupe is a sedan with 2 doors missing, it's soft and not engaging to drive
Reminder that anything good from the 80s and 90s that were discontinued would come back today as, as computer controlled sub two-ton as you can get. The Prelude would come back if they wanted it to (sans the name 'Prelude', that would make no sense), but it would be a FWD, only 2WS J powered CVT or 6MT. If it's anything like the Accord, it's not going to be as fun as its predecessors.
The fifth gen at it's heaviest was 3000 pounds, I can't imagine how much all the safety and computerized shit would weigh a modern Prelude down. God forbid it'd be a Euro designed Honda. The EP3 was good, fuck everything else though.
Also Civics can go fuck themselves
>mfw someone else likes my pig fat, type sh :3
Wouldn't they need some new technology to put into a new generation?
I like your BB6 anon.
Well, I'm okay with it. /o/ treats the Prelude like America treated it: No praise, but no real malice either. Just kind of there.
Hopefully the Preludefags don't dick it up and piss the team off. We just want respect.
I kinda miss those sporting fwd coupes in general to be hinest. It wasn't so long ago that the market was full of the damn things - Ford Cougar and Puma, Alfa GTV, FIAT Coupe, Peugeot 406 Coupe, Toyota Celica, Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon...
Then the whole class just sort of gradually disappeared. All I can think of that's left are the Scirocco and the TC, and the former's just a 3 door hatch with a slopey roofline and the latter apparently drives like poop.
I appreciate that they were a bit of an acquired taste, but the automotive world's a bit less rich for their not being in it.
>being this thick
i have one of these 406 2.0! love the way it looks and handles, bit low on power but pretty reliable so far
300k km still going strong
I'm not arguing for RWD, I just think the 2WS variants are much better because they're lighter and less likely to shit out on you. I did like the 3rd gen with its mechanical 4ws, though
>still no S16
Daily reminder that Nissan still hasn't fixed this problem.
i want an s16 and dont at the same time. afraid nissan is gonna fuck it up
Nissan toyed around with an s16 in like 2011 I think.
>yfw it was fwd
>new ford escort
This already exists
>It's a dressed up Fiesta for chinks
Yeah, my '88 Si was my first car. It was Red/Black, 5spd and had an exhaust. There was shit for performance parts for the 3rd gen Lude back in the day. This was back before digital cameras so my pics are on film and I don't have a scanner.
>dat low cowl
>dat chunky shifter
>dem pop ups
I almost bought a Starion, but electrical gremlins popped up on the test drive and I didn't want to fuck with it. It was a blast to drive though.
>only the s15 was 6
this is what I meant by fucking it up.
Good thing rotaries move in epitrochoids, not circles
Other than most of what's been mentioned, Supra, Prelude, etc, I'd like to see this make a comeback. Honda has hinted at bringing the S660 statesite and putting in a turbo'd 1.0L, but I don't think they'll do it either.
