Guilty pleasures ?
This one looks pretty good, senpai
It's literally just a turbo neon
I don't understand
The car is too heavy to be good FF and has four doors
>105 in wheelbase
I'd rather have a prelude
>isn't aware of the Neon's accomplishments in SCCA and shit
>talks about fucking wheelbase like it's some serious factor
Somehow, Dodge managed to create a decent-handling car when they made the Neon. I don't know how, but they did. The SRT-4 is the performance version putting down a lot of power and also has tweaked suspension.
Cheap, reliable (no shit), runs a high 13 stock. They're cheap, stock fun.
Preludes are slow as balls and heavy.
I'm not saying it's my favorite car in the world just a guilty pleasure.. just as the Cobalt SS is.
Obviously just the looks. Specifically the ones with this front end.
I even like the simple interior
Prelude, depending on year, weights from 2800-3000lbs. Not really lighter just way less powerful.
Preludes have one of the smallest aftermarkets for Hondas. I owned a BB1, trust me on this.
Glad i'm not the only one who has a soft spot for the Cobalt SS and SRT4.
Wish Chysler and GM had of continued those cars and just tried to iron out whatever faults they had...
There is no way an American fwd car handles well
There is no way it can beat a 240sx, miata, the twins, supra, civic type r, integra type r, rx7. Rx8, f body, Fox body, suzuki cappuccino , mistubishi evo, subaru wrx, Honda civic si , ae86, 300zx,350z , altezza
On the togue
the str4 would be have probably have it in a race 2bh, prelude might handle slightly better, but would definitely get beat in the straights
That being said the prelude maybe less powerful, but is still a higher quality car and I rather own a clean prelude over a clean str4
I always liked the looks of these 80's and 90's cars.
Shame most of then got trashed by hillbillies and niggers.
If you're referring to the 3rd gen Prelude then you're deluded... those are slow as fuck, they'd lose to the srt-4 based on power alone..
You're being stereotypical with the whole,
>muh power to weight
Doesn't matter how light if its an underpowered as all fuck.
Out of that list, a SRT-4 would beat the KA- 240sx, miata, rx8, stock f-body (LT1), stock fox body, civic si, ae86.
The same reason the Cobalt SS/TC ran an 8:22 on Nurgburgring which is faster than the 350z, S2K, C5 Vette, NSX, Type R... not all american fwd cars are shit.
My grandmother is unfortunately on her death bed due to cancer and pneumonia, but because I took such good care of her for the last 2 years of her life she left me her house and her 1994 Buick Roadmaster.
My god, it's so comfy to drive. I'll miss you Mema. ;-;
The srt 4 handles bad and could never beat the cars I posted
What about tuning the srt4? You can't do that
And how much weight can you really shave off an American four door? It's hopeless
Have you ever driven a FWD with 350hp? A tuned one with likely a modified suspension?
Seriously just stop. Spouting memes doesn't make you look cool it makes you look like a fucking kid.
>How light can you make a srt 4, tell me now
>What the point
To go fast obviously.
It's straight line fun, if I wanted to go down some hair pin twisties I'd get on my r6 or in the Evo.
I'm currently hunting for a RWD car, but if I find a Chrysler GS Turbo II, I'll buy that fucker in a heartbeat.
I had a turbo II LeBaron as my first car, those things are hilarious.
I had a 92 IROC R/T... 224hp... it was nuts for a first car. I remember racing a few kids from school who owned Integras and Civics...it blew their doors off.
I'd love to find another one, I was stupid and sold that thing for like $1000.
I almost bought a 2004 Tiburon in July, but /o/ shat all over it. Had 70k miles. 3k dollars. Serviced and sold by a 20+ year Hyundai Mechanic.
Well thats because its a shit performing car. Didn't stop me from suggesting my friend get one though, who knows nothing about cars. I would have had a chance on indulging my guilty pleasure once in a while.
But in the end I did the right thing and picked out a Civic for him.
I like trucks but I hate everything associated with trucks in modern car so-called culture, both the pro faction and the anti faction. Worse still I'm not North American.
>mfw RWD SRT4 would make a powerful inline 4 kinda-weird but still good looking seriously fucking better
>mfw while i think FWD can compete with RWD in performance alone, i hate the idea of an american FWD car
Fucking dodge only had to change the drivetrain and it would sell 3 times more.
Tell me more how the car people love to rally would be better rwd
Tell me more how you know better than the engineers and designers
>this car handles good
>let's make it handle completely differently
>this car would have sold better if it was rwd
>let's ignore that money is not infinite
I'm a huge proponent of rwd cars as aell, but spending all of that r&d money on a limited, more expensive performance trim wouldn't have made that much sense. I could see AWD, but not rwd.
>limited and more expensive
No you fucking faggot, i am not asking for a new different trim. I am saying that dodge SHOULD OF HAD made the SRT4 RWD while keeping the base neon FWD, and again, the SRT 4 its pretty much a non-agressive inline 4 sports car, as much as it gets close to being one with what it is, and having it RWD only makes sense
Yeah, we're on the same page, but completely re-engineering the drivetrain doesn't make sense for one trim. Adding to it with AWD that could be used on other models with the same platform would make more sense.
I love the Sonic, I wish Chevy gave a fuck so it could be a competent hot hatch. The Sedan looks like AIDS but the hatch is one of the best designed cars in years.
I need to find one of these that's been 4g63 swapped and that's been converted to awd.
