>>14222524 because they fucking signal only after they change lanes, if they signal at all >50% of bimmers i've seen on the road fucking lane swerve 3 lanes just to get one car ahead >the whole "ultimate driving machine" when they're just used to say "hey i have money" by people who don't even like driving Plus the whole supreme gentleman thing
>>14222524 Speaking from experience, something about being in a BMW turns me into a really aggressive driver. It's not even a change that's happened to me just as a result of buying this car, I'm perfectly fine in any of my other cars. >tfw downshifting into 4th on the highway and knocking your gf back into her seat from sik acceleration
>>14223825 Not make you look like you're 16. I see shit tons of rich faggot kids that drive camaros. M3s are always driven by well put together people who know how to drive. Also the interior isn't dildos.
Fun story, I know this guy whose rich-ass parents got him a loaded 2015 camaro for his birthday. Custom interior, custom paintjob, custom rims, vanity plates with his name on them. They got him the turbo inline 4. Decently fast. And then when it arrived at the dealer, they made them take off the turbo. It now makes less than 150 HP. I laugh my ass off everyday because he's a total fucking tool and he's like "lol bet you wish you drove a camaro bruh"
>>14223825 The Camaro is built out of plastic and feels HORRIBLE to sit in. The M3/M4 at least have a nice, well-designed interior with good features. The design will also age much better than the pigfat, blocky Camaro design with no windows.
>>14223869 >Yeah, doesn't work like that. Wouldn't you just have to retune it? His friend told me his parents had an engine swap done but I figured removing the turbo was more likely. The thing definitely has no fucking power whatsoever because I raced him at a stoplight once.
>>14223883 That really depends on the model. If they're driving a base 2.5L in automatic with no options I guarantee they don't know shit because they already went full retard by buying a base model. Somebody driving an E39 M5? Probably knows their shit.
Hi. I drive a 2007 335i. I signal well in advance before a lane change. I know all the rules of the road and I abide by them. I never cut anyone off, I'm defensive/courteous, and I follow the speed limit. Sometimes I'll go nuts but 99% of the time it's when the highway is dead at 7am.
Yet time and time again, the people I see not signalling, not giving a fuck, doing dangerous maneuvers poorly, causing shitstorms, etc, are driving old 90s american trucks and SUVs. So please. Stop hating on BMWs because its a funny internet meme. In reality, BMW drivers are like any other Honda/VW driver.
>>14222524 >soccer moms driving giant X5s and generally being oblivious >niggers driving old beat up E46s >middle aged cunts driving like retards and not taking care of their car because it's leased >young guys driving 10-15 year old BMWs as their first 'nice car' the last one can be both the best and worst, depending on if they're an enthusiast just trying to get the fastest car for their money or if they're a total douchebag who just bought it for a status symbol. you can tell the difference by how well they're maintained.
tl;dr 4/5 options are shit people and shit drivers
>>14225100 I don't think it even has to do with the brand of car. I think everybody who owns something fast drives pretty aggressively. If the majority of Mustang owners weren't 45 year old women they'd probably have a reputation for being dicks too.
>>14224613 >Stop hating on BMWs because its a funny internet meme. In reality, BMW drivers are like any other Honda/VW driver.
Horseshit. Stereotypes don't come from nothing, and the BMW driver stereotype has been around for decades. For whatever reason, a good number of assholes subscribe to the BMW brand as their status symbol and keep passing down the torch. Mercs and Audis have their fair share too, but there's something special about BMW.
>heavy traffic at 6 PM on a week night >everyone's crawling at 20 mph >BMW 428i comes zooming up my ass >starts weaving between cars and riding everyone's ass super fucking hard despite not being able to go more than 20 mph on average >gets in the right lane and makes a turn >he accelerates the fuck out of it and I see him lose control of the back end and wobble across the road
>>14225108 No, people who either bought a shitty car with no redeeming features just for attention (Post E46 BMW, V6 Mustangs etc.) OR people who are just automotive-illiterate and don't give a fuck about driving (women in general, minivans, SUVs and so on) will be the worst drivers.
Owners of driver-oriented sports cars that aren't retarded 16 year olds who could barely afford an NA Miata tend to be the best drivers since they actually care about driving and their cars, even entry-level sports cars (Miatas in good condition, 370zs, Mustang GTs (I know it's not a sports car, shut the fuck up)) tend to have decent communities when you consider the car communities of virtually any car that isn't performance oriented such as Civic.
Generally the more driver-oriented a car is, the better the driver. When you have numb, boring shitboxes like the X5 which is only bought because "muh road bullies muh badge muh ultimate driving masheen" you get the worst of drivers.
>>14225188 I'm a E46 owner, have owned 3 BMWs, I blame RWD. Genuinely I find myself trying to get oversteer on my daily commute. It's like BMW drivers have a some sort of subconcious obligation to drive like a cunt.
Now that we're breaking out the acronyms, I thought I'd add my own:
(Some apply specifically to West Coast Canada)

Idk about murica but here in europe every, and i mean EVERY news report about a drunk 20 y.o. running over pedestrians is BMW. That being said two of my peers (college students) who own e46's (one 330Ci one M3) are both chilled as fuck and barely drink at all, let alone while driving. Still, you'll see scum all the time driving in brand new 318d and think they're the shit because they got M pack and it looks nice to casuals.
They hate us cause they aint' us desu. But I'm not really surprised. Can confirm what >>14225489 said. Most BMWs in Eastern Europe are beat up by shitty retarded village boys that think lexus look tail lights and angel eyes along with an M pack gives their E36 316 Compact +50hp. BMW and Mercedes drivers are literally the worst on the roads. But they're not the only ones. Usually when I drive my E36 most drivers will go over the speed limit and drive as if they're trying to prove that I'm inferior. My friends at school also make fun of me sometimes. I usually drive pretty fast but always use indicators and try my hardest to think of others when driving.
>>14225840 >steering wheel, shifter, doors, brake, center console, everything else that comes into contact with the user is leather Very few cars will have the top of the dashboard any material other than plastic because it's basically pointless.
as a bong driver of a new 330 bmw has little cachet here great car no prestige. 3 series is common as muck in uk, its a rep mobile for fleets for travelling salesman as is the 5 20.
most bmw drivers are aspirational look ive made it as a i have a beemer. means the actual ones who have made it have t move on to proper bmw models (not saying 330 is its a cop out, should have got an alpina) or different marques.
something that really annoys me is cunts in new badge delete bmws. if you too emabarressed by tou basic model to advertise the fact dont buy a bmw get a far better less 'prestige' marque for the same proce as your shit tier bmw.
>>14225914 Elliot drove an E90 328i, AKA the car every rich faggot buys to feel like he's "made it". M3s are driven pretty much exclusively by enthusiasts, because a base 3 series has the same status to normies as an M3 so normalfags don't buy them. There was also a time that Ms only came in manual. Too bad that's not the case anymore.
>>14222524 As a BMW owner I'm ashamed of the stigma attached to my vehicle and actively try to avoid slipping into that category (using turn signals for 3s before turning, giving way, road etiquette etc.). That said, having a RWD I6 drivetrain gives me a urge to use it for hooning, and I don't have much patience at all when dealing with slow cunts on the roads. The thing that differs me from most other BMW drivers is that I don't act on that frustration.
I used to never understand BMW's until I started selling cars.
Overpriced, yes. High maintenance costs, yes.
BUT, they do drive really well. You can take corners much faster... they feel rock solid on the road.
My biggest complaint is their interior designs and driver interface. I hate all the dials and menus. Also, when you hop into a newer BMW, you get all these weird chirps and audible blips and shit before you even turn the key... its deathly annoying.
The 328 (at least the E90 generation 2006-2012) has an engine block that is all magnesium with aluminum cylinder walls. Its not a motor that takes boost very well so you're pretty much left with what comes from the factory, and maybe 30-40 more hp from a different intake manifold and headers.
Even if you could turbo a 328, it isn't worth it because for what you spend on a turbo, you could have just gotten a 335 with a real turbo motor.
>>14226142 same. when im in a BMW i actually try to behave on the road. I do hoon on some empty streets from time to time though. A much different story when im driving anything different from a BMW though since idgaf about ruining some audis or vw's reputation lol
look at these dumb cunts defending the camaro interior. are you sister-fuckers trolling or really that incredibly stupid? there's a fine line between being patriotic for liking your country's cars and simply being retarded. guess which one you are? faggots.
>>14229317 Citation needed. BMW has been consistently rated average or above average for reliability on all their models. And the problems they have are very rarely problems with the engine, it's all the electrical accessories.
Plus, the reason is that black A6 Audis are the cars of choice for well placed officials in Beijing. Incidentally, the cars you see are most likely owned by said officials. However, this also creates an incentive for the public to buy such cars because even the police might yield right of way to a black Audi, thinking an official is in it.
Right now, Audi is more expensive than before because of those.
>>14231772 Sure, someone's going to pay many thousands of dollars to have a dealership remove the turbo, a job they would likely refuse to do, instead of just having a speed limiter implemented like a normal helicopter parent.
The cars look great and feel great. I drive a '90 E30 Coupe and love the damn thing. If I had money, I'd buy an M2.
The drivers are insufferable thundercunts, mainly uppity suburbanites who think that because they have a BMW they own the world (this applies to luxury car owners and upper-middle class drivers in general). They are extremely stuck-up, and pompous assholes who don't follow basic road rules.
3 days ago I was driving to visit my grandma in the hospital, when a woman driving a BMW X5 started tailgating me for several miles, while on the phone. I was in the right lane, and suddenly I see her yelling at me in the rear view mirror. I was going the speed limit, and already got pulled over and given a warning once for going 3 over.
Then she pulled around, cut a dude off that was about to pass in the left lane, got in front of me (didn't use her signal), and slammed on her brakes, slowing down to 30 mph in a 50 zone. I tried passing her and she kept blocking me. I called the police, reported her for reckless driving and erratic behavior (fucking trying to run me off the road), and finally made it to the hospital.
I don't know what the hell I did to her besides make a gesture like pic related when she was riding my ass.
I can't wait to move out of this godforsaken city.
>>14231923 Yes they are. A vast majority of the shithead drivers I encounter in my 40 mile per day commute are driving common cheap cars. Shitty drivers drive a every kind of car and are no more common in a BMW than in a Kia.
I think alot of it goes by how you come into owning a BMW or any car for that matter. If your born with a silver spoon in your mouth and all you know is "nice" cars your more than likely gonna be a dick. If you've worked hard and had shitboxes then worked your way up to affording a BMW then your going to appreciate it and respect other people around you not in the same boat. This is just a personal perspective tho some people do lose sight of their roots.
