Hey /o/, i'm looking for an affordable new sports car in the 20-15K Range. I need something with Electronic Stability Control, RWD, Manual Transmission, and i'm not a fan of convertibles. So far i'm looking at Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Subaru WRX, Nissan 370z.
The twins are slow for their price, the Genesis is so numb to drive you'd think the gas tank was filled with Novocaine, the WRX is AWD and looks like a riced Accord now, and the 370z is pretty outdated.
I've got a Toyota 86 (so, BRZ), and it's hell fun. Pretty gutless at the lower end, but as long as you don't try to pretend that it's something it's not, you'll be fine. People hate on it here for some reason. At the end of the day, as long as you don't think it's a small supercar, you'll have fun. Even on the straight bits, it's fun overtaking people.
Also, and this is super-subjective, I think it looks fucking amazing.
You can import a GTR at ~40k miles at that price range if you're a US cuck. Depending on which coast there's plenty of importers but I've personally been looking at the r32 Japanese Classics offers
If you buy a FRZ you are an actual retard and we don't want you around. It's not that you like something different, it is that you have broadcast to the world that you are a fucking idiot and don't even know it.
We aren't a bunch of brand fags saying you bought the wrong car. We look at you and we see a faggot that is trying to buy himself into a lifestyle. You aren't a racer or a sports car enthusiast, you are a fucking poser. Nobody likes posers.
For me it hit that sweetspot. It's just outdated enough to feel nice and analog.
It's pretty nice stock and you can keep it for while. If you decide you like it you can mod it, which will make it great for the price.
Peeps who bash on the FR-S are too concerned with paper bullshit to appreciate the driving experience for what it is.
The FR-S, Miata and S2000 are driver's cars.
HP does not automatically = fun
HP does not automatically = fast
If you want a car that's compromised in some way for convenience or comfort, get anything else but those cars.
370 isn't a bad choice either, but it leans on the heavier side and would be more fitted as a grand tourer than a true sports car
Enjoy your poorfag mediocrity.
Hey /o/, i'm looking for an affordable new sports car in the 1-2000 dollar range. I need something with popup lights, a slow overrated engine, RWD and Corolla. So far i'm looking at Toyotas and Corollas and Starlets.
The most fun sports car in this range would be the S2k. I don't like convertibles either but I want to get one just because of how fucking great they are to drive
Nothing has higher fun/dollar
because the miata is 1/4th of the cost and most people who drive S2Ks aren't even skilled enough to take advantage of added performance over a Miata. Also, who gives a fuck if the Miata is gay
So this is a reason not to own an awesome car? With that ideology I shouldn't have built my PC because if my water cooling system leaks or someone breaks into my house and steals it I'll have to replace everything.
although realistically you'll need about $5k just sitting around to properly maintain it. It sure didn't start as a $20k car
>one of the most stolen cars
>most get totalled by insurance due to roofs being slashed and interiors getting stripped out by thieves
I guess this might be a concern if you live in a shit neighborhood infested with nigs and spics. Or if u live in mexico
luckily that isn't the case for me. When I walk down the street at night in my neighbourhood and do the "car door test" almost 50% of cars are left completely unlocked. Perks of living in a white suburb
