Everything is heavier. That's why something like the new Miata is so cool to see.

The 86 got absolutely rave reviews. For me, that alone would make it worth a test drive, if I was in the market for that sort of thing. Sure it could be quicker, but my MR2 is considerably slower yet still more than fast enough to enjoy blatting down a country lane in.

You don't want to be able to drive the car for many hundreds of thousands of miles? Buying new saves you from any previous owner abuse, you know 100% of the car's history. It'd also be nice to have something fun to daily drive while working on other cars that need to be in pieces for longer amounts of time. Currently driving a Ranger because foxbodies don't like winter salt, and will still be driving it come summer when I rip the engine out of it.
