There's no set definition of it like there is for a roadster or coupe. You just sort of know it when you see it. I think of it as the sort of car that, when you see it, it makes your day just for seeing it

Feeling the need to compartmentalize and pigeonhole everything is literally a sign of autism. I'm not joking.

The world isn't so black and white. Thus such labels become meaningless and totally superfluous. Whether or not a car is a "supercar" doesn't change anything about it. It doesn't make the car any faster or slower. It doesn't change how exotic and different it is. It doesn't make the body any more appealing. The word is devoid of meaning.

Moreover, the term is completely subjective to the individual and the qualifications of "What makes a supercar?" is as vague and nebulous as it is varied. There is no official agreement of what defines a supercar further debasing the use of the term.

Anybody that tries say different is a filthy casual that probably watches too much TG.

Wasn't the Viper considered America's first super car? it wasn't bought or owned by anywhere near as many people as the vette (like a super car) also considered kind of exotic due to it being a V10 when most american cars never exceed 8 cylinders.

Back in the 60s the top tier muscle cars were considered super cars before the whole muscle car label took off. Seems like a super car is just a really fast car.
