I remember some anon saying he had a shell he put away for 10 years and was gonna do a vh swap on it. So I assumed it was you
o wow..people pay attention
trying to grab everything i need to completely finish the front end of the car...alot i have from boxed from 10 years ago
ss brake lines, ss clutch lines, ss ps lines, ect
>Not having a vh45, 2x vh45 short blocks, and a ka block in your garage
someone post the collage, also please replace my car with a newer picture. I removed the shitty stickers on the side.
This. I need to be added to the banner still I think.
I need new injector plugs, Rock-auto has 4 choices and two different styles.
Other forums just recommend buying used plugs because they're dumb,I'd like to buy the one that fits best and dont need to be massaged to fit. Anyone replaced injector plugs before?
I'll update the banner soon to change your pic and add the donk s14
they're people who posted sideshots of their cars to be added to the banner. I'll add you if you post yours.
Yeah. Its been a solid daily but it hasn't quite won my love yet. I'll always be an Audi guy, its what I grew up doing. That and classic Japanese. I'll have other opportunities as an s chassis in the future.
I know what you mean, living in Canadia we have a lot more options when it comes to cars, especially through importing. So to me it's not worth paying $7k for a beaten S13 when I could have a perfect S15 with under 100k's for $11k
plz add me to your cool crew =3
Do any of you own an s-chassis not for drifting? I was interested in buying one as it checked off a lot of the things i was looking for in my next car: RWD, relatively lightweight, technically not a 2-seater, available in the $3-8k range.. But it seems like people only like them to modify, and to drift. Overall driving experience and agility don't seem to be why people get them. Are they any fun to drive if you're not going sideways? Would i be underwhelmed if i got one without the intention of drifting it? I live in a big city, where's it fun to go fast on winding highways. Sporty handling and quick acceleration are what im after. i'm not around backroads and suburban parking lots where I can go drifting and stuff. Do s-chassis' not make sense for me?
You can set them up pretty well for grip. Drifting can be done with any suspension setup, but most guys run a fair bit of camber up front with as little as possible on the rears. Angle of your rear cradle setup can effect it, same as your sway bars, castor etc. My s13 drives pretty nicely in the touge. Depends what you want it for, not much of a grand tourer though if thats what your thinking. They're just lightweight sports cars that have a decent platform for motorsports.
yup....s15 in a bit..when its legal
I've got a bit, I'm not headed back until spring quarter. That's much appreciated. Its an auto which sucks but it's only got 138k miles and has been taken care of, clean title too. Could use some lovin on the front fender since the previous owner was older and backed into it with his truck. Other than that it's got some dings and dents but nothing that can't be easily popped out with a heatgun and a firm push.
Yes that's me. I appreciate you spreading the word! I know the price is a bit high for an auto car but everything around here is so expensive and finding a clean title car that hasn't been beaten to shit is so hard nowadays.
Yeah I understand. I've got some wiggle room. I'm not going to keep it when I head over since I really need an awd car, it's just that I have a specific car that I really want to buy from a buddy that he's giving me a good deal on.
Have a week off work coming up, need to get my sideskirts mounted, then taken to get painted and fitted up properly. Still waiting on a new front bar that I ordered before christmas which I want done. Catch can is finished from one of my mates, looks super tidy, just need to get my rocker covers powder coated and run the hose then that'll be finished. Have got about a month and a half before a big car show we have called all japan day. I tend to avoid car shows but this one has some really nice classics from old rotarys to mental gtr's and a dude with a crazy rb26 sil80.
I've got a good friend who built his car for grip/time attack and I can attest that thing freaking rips. One helluva driver too. Always fun talking with him because you'll always learn something. Especially if you're both on the track (taught me the proper lines to drive at Brainerd International Raceway last year at PowerCruise USA #6). Had an SR in it and went 1J shortly after the Sport Street feature. I feel like that might be the way my car is going, no drifting for me.
Pic related is said car.
That'd be pretty fun. Wish we had decent tracks here. They're meant to be making a new track at the moment and our only other track is shit.
You can definately setup an s chassis to do well in grip, mine handles pretty nice, need some new tyre soon as they feel pretty off now. Drifting is fun aswell, have a few mates who are really into it but they're cars are always broken and wrecked from all the abuse they cop.
I have my 240 set up for grip. It's all about how you set up your suspension. A good set of coils helps a lot too and I've found its better to keep the oem rear sway bar if you're going for grip. Also don't forget some good tires.
i hate how the banner needs a pic of my car from the roached side. oh well. pulled the thermostat yesterday and it rained today so i went sliding around a little. probably gonna head out later tonight also.
I like my hatch but I would still trade it for a coupe of equal quality
mirrored stickers would trigger my autism
>tfw s13 coupes run for a premium
kinda tempted to try to trade for an S14 tho....
selling my concord 11s later today so thats my welded diff for sure
>tfw wont get to experience Tokyo Auto Salon 92
i dont think i'll regret my drunk purchase of Option and Drift Tengoku magazines from 1998 in the morning, do you??
one of my really close friends actually picked up an S15, which isnt a big deal in Canada or Australia but we're in the USA so its pretty special.
based odyvia is the best non-oem front end swap
s14 with an s13 front is pretty neato too. s14s take any front end well imo, kinda like FDs.
out of the ordinary.... wonder what it runs in the 1/4.. anybody know?
ive been pounding fireball all night and its damn near 5:00 am..
Surely not. Even if you can't read moon, the pictures are always great to look at!
Have an Impvia.
i was literally about to post that, have the higher res version bro.
and i've been watching drift tengoku, i can obviously backards entry on bihoku first try everyt time.
heres the desktop image i've had on my computer for the past like... 8 years... at least 2 different rigs so far.
and the full cover.... really wanna find this BM... if any firnds and Australia can help let me know lol...
i stopped drinking in 2012 after my buddies graduation party when i got way too drunk and apparently tried to sleep in the road... ive been binge drinking the past 5 nights.... didnt drink at all before this... whatever tho...
i gotta figure out my fuckin power steering too. trying to drift without it is a whore.
Zaku!!!!!!! hahaha, Oridos face in that is so funny wen he puts it up. idk if youve ever played the D1 PS2 game, but theres actually Zakus Sunny available to drift when you unlock it.
i want this FRP vent so bad. GTR garage used to sell them and i cannot find them fucking ANYWHERE now. imagine that in a chuki bumper. it would look so good.
RIP Atsushi Kuroi........ if you don't know educate yourself...
>tfw your transmission choice means you can't have nice things.
I have an s13 problem. When I turn my headlights on (HIDs) the passenger side one doesn't come on and the high beam indicator stays on no matter what. The drivers side one works fine. What do?
this guy knows
fuck man theres tons of s13s/214s here but barley any s12s or older
Bleed it, drive for a bit, park so your nose is up in the air, bleed it again. Check your fluids, maybe even go as far as heading to a shop and having your system pressure tested, there could be a large blockage in your rads veins.
woo hoo boys, woke up with no hangover and it supposed to rain tonight. any plans for your shitbox today guys??
apexxxx just take it out. you will love it. i just took my shit out, poured coolant in until it came out of the bleed valve and my shits golden. i was romping on it for an hour last night with no issues at all. Water Wetter helps too, even if most additive stuff is snake oil.
yes. the entire thing. run your car without it. then if it does overheat you know its your water pump. i dont daily my s13 so i dont give a shit about the heater working well. it stays cool as fuck under heavy load and thats all i need.
Not sure who this guy is but I see him all the time in my town (NE tennessee) but I only see him parked, never in his car. Would leave a nice car dude note but I'm not sure how he'd feel about it.
he'd probably like it man, most s-chassis guys ive met in person are really cool about their cars.
based GP sports. tempted to sell everything i own and go this direction lmao
wherever works, not too big of a deal id imagine.
yeah im sure its not a big deal. just give it a shot if you keep having problems tho dude. i was weary of trying at first too
Got some packages in today, SAFC II,Turbo timer, shifter extender and weeb stickers.
probably your ballast m8. get rid of the lame ass hids and just run the H4 conversion.
The genuine Nissan parts sticker on the box allows me to rice my car with a clear conscious.
now i just need to find cheap lights to go in it & how to wire it
A bunch of Nissan engines use the same connectors, go to a junkyard and clip a bunch off a harness. I know vh45 are the same and I think vg.
If you absolutely wanna buy new I think you can get them from wiring specialties too
Yes for 1 million shekels
I paid 2k for mine stock 2 years ago, riced it myself
Gotta take a decent pic so I can be a cool guy too
So basically did what this goy did just now and the stream came out instantly. So how do I know it worked other than trial and error. Used coolant tho instead of water in his bid.
HID in halogen housing are shit. Just buy some H4 housings.
But to anwser your question, I don't have a clue. EL-20 in the FSM will help you sort out your issues. Pic related.
My trick is to jack up the car so the nose is damn high and bleed it like that. Once jacked up add coolant and start the car. Keep an eye on the temp gauge, once it's warm check fluid. Continue adding fluid until you have some just sitting in the funnel just like in that guys video. While doing this massage the upper radiator hose, pretty much push it down followed by pulling up on the hose. Air tends to get trapped in that section and that will help remove the air. Finally once the coolant is getting warm you should see the fluid level rise in the funnel. Turn the car off and throw the radiator cap back on. Make sure there is coolant in the overflow tank as it will suck fluid back in.
I've been able to bleed my KA in one shot doing it that way every time. My manifold bleed screw is frozen so I don't bother with it.
Well I test drove it and its idling rough but no temp spikes. Might just need fresh gas idk. I'll try your method. So take off the bleeder screw while the car is on right? And basically do the same thing? Pour until stream comes out and massage the hoses?
With my method you don't need to touch the bleeder screw. By jacking up the front you make the radiator the highest point in the system.
Why did you think you had HIDs? Nice to hear you fixed your issue though.
swap control arms?, they're straight i swear
anybody have more s-chassis advertisements??
Da fuck happened to that poor car?
c'mon wheres my aussie s-chassis bros
post your s15s i'm jealous of them
1997 japan happened. want me to post even earlier s-chassis show shit??
I don't have an s15 unfortunately :(
Where abouts in straya are you?
well i'm American, i'm from Washington haha. this is my hatch >>14223618
based truck engine worst version of the s13 available lol. does the job in the rain though with the open diff.
Atleast that one doesn't have the crazy veilside shopping list shit.
it says border right on the hood ya silly goose
enjoy some more 97 goodness tho
Dat hazard light photography tho
Ahh okay well the blue ones mine, have a mate with an s15 and it's pretty nice all round. Nothing special but they're nice to drive.
a really close friend just got a non-turbo here in the states which is pretty rare, seeing as S15s are illegal as fuuuuuuck. just a track and show car
and im welding the diff soon okay i promise
yes bro u dont melt down ur blown turbos for bodykitz?? fuck ebay bro we metal body kits now
koukis are cool but i'm bummed about all of the kids who swap duraflex front ends onto perfectly clean zenkis :(
i'm really jealous of the selection of parts even you ausbros have, getting anything in the US is expensive if you want real JDM stuff.
The n/a autech things are pretty quick for an 2.0l, not as good as turbz obviously but still kinda cool. Can you actually import cars for track use only even if they're banned? We can here and it ends up being about $3-5k cheaper than getting an import registered.
Haha better off getting shims m8. They last longer and work better. I have a kaaz 2way which is really good/10.
All dem downforces
Try jesse streeter for good prices on parts from japland. Look him up on bookface or I can find his email.
i'm not sure about the whole legality, honestly, but R34s are totally illegal here but plenty of people import them under a law that lets them be driven less than like 2500 miles a year or something? im not certain, i'm sure someone will reply calling me a retard for not knowing the laws lol.
oh i know about jesse streeter. didn't realize he was actually so easy to get stuff through. i'll have to get a hold of him when the time comes for sure. i follow him on instagram, the guys insane behind the wheel.
Yeah I have no clue about your laws haha.
Yeah man his cars are pretty mental aswell, probably one of the better soundinh sr's I've heard in his white one. He generally sends containers back here to oz but he'll ship parts anywhere. Don't forget his prices are in strayan monopoly money
does he trade for marmite or victoria bitter
always found the displays without wheels kinda funny lol
Wow, op pic really looked like this
this one is a genuine plastic, not fiberglass
I used to park my car on a driveway, plus jack the front passenger corner of the car up to move all the air bubbles to the water neck.
I have a PBM swirl tank that's also tapped into where the bleed valve used to be and that made it really easy to bleed.
o yea boys im drunk again
sold those sneakers today
welded diff soon and should make it for the trackday on the 23rd
so i got the magazines from this >>14223510
post and yes i do not regret them
the first cars in the drift tengoku are kouki s14 front sil80s and theyre fucking based. didn't realize people were doing shit that extreme back then honestly.
I've had great success having the bleeder screw out, then filling the radiator, then starting the engine to let it heat up. First you'll see steam coming out the port, then bubbles, then solid coolant (usually in a matter of seconds of each other, so be ready). When its solid coolant for a second or two, get the screw back in place. Wear gloves, shits hot.
Also, go for a short neighborhood drive then park and let it cool down. Sometimes the system will 'burp' into the overflow then be golden after it cools.
The KA24DE really is a pain to bleed, but its good for years after you get it right.
